I'm working on 2 things right now.

One is a full fledged novel called Mesothalinchar and it's about 2 Secret Societies that were once Christian but one went to the Power of Satan. The names of the Societies are Mesothalinchar and Linthincharge. Linthincharge is the evil one and Mesothalinchar is the Good one. I would go into the plot more but I don't want to spoil it when I send it out to be published(hopefully).

The second one I don't really have much of a plot for except a girl who's struggling to feel loved in a loveless society and is in pursuit of something bigger and better for her meaningless life. I don't have a title for that one yet either, but I should finish it soon.

I have two novels in the works, though truth be told both of them have been a bit neglected since the semester started.

The first is Tracy Dublo, whose title character sprang from the pages of high school vocabulary exercises. I've always loved film noir, and that was her source- Tracy is a private investigator in 1950's Seattle. The book takes the form of a number of short stories, "The Case of the Heckled Band", etc.. Tracy is very autobiographical by nature, and her adventures often mimic my own though they transpire in rather more outrageous ways. Her sunny perspective towards death and destruction helps me look at things more optimistically than I might otherwise. I would never publish this one though, there are plenty of female detectives out there as it is, and a few of the earlier stories are immaturely written, being after all the creations of a 9th grader.

The other is more recent, and did not start out being a novel but grows like a cell culture. I was looking at Malory's Morte D'arthur on my spare time, and was taken by his account of Arthur and the Emperor Lucius. I thought it was interesting that he would dare make the claim for Arthur as emperor of the Roman Empire, and wondered which Lucius he was referring to. Researching a bit, it turned out that Lucius Verus, briefly a dual emperor with his brother Marcus Aurelius, in fact did die under questionable circumstances while traveling back from Germany. I started writing a short story about an ancient conspiracy that would make Malory's account work with the historical record. Since then, the characters have taken over, and the plot started winding all over the place, from Roman murder mysteries to the finding of the True Grail. I wash my hands of it.

Of course, I'm now not the only person to have put Arthur back in Roman Britain, if not the 2nd century per say. And "Gladiator" put Marcus Aurelius and his son Commodus into the public eye. So this one is probably unpublishable as well, but that's alright. My writing is more of a hobby than a goal, so I don't mind keeping it to myself and friends. Historically speaking it has been a bad idea for an anthropologist to write fictional books anyway - Poor Boucher des Perthes' abominable Emma cost him his reputation, that of his theories, and very nearly his job!

I've got three projects currently in progress.

The Legend of Zelda: Hero of the Future
Set about 1000 years after Ocarina of Time, assuming none of the other games that happen after it ever heppened. Basic plot is the same as the games: evil dud tries to take over, Link tries to stop them, but I'm throwing in quite a few twists. I've actually posted the first few chapters on my website (see my signature).

Double D
An original story. It's a comedy about a college student who is haunted by the question "Where will you go if you were to die right now?" By "haunted" I really mean haunted. He has nightmares of the guy who asked him that dancing around as he yells and screams the question over and over and over at him.

Eye of Faith
Another original. This is a fantasy set in modern times. There's a ring called the "Eye of Faith" that allows the wearer to see and interact with the Spiritual Realm directly. There's a sword, "The Sword of Light," that goes with it, allowing the bearer to combat demons, and directly influence souls just by touching them with the sword. Of course, there's the opposites of both items and the demons that are hunting the "Sword-Bearer."

I have a few other ideas, but I don't want to focus in them until I get at least one of these projects done.

Update on my stories:

So I scraped the ones I talked about before. Now I'm starting a Christian Anime Novel called Happiness Lies Behind the Tears.

The setting is in Japan and I have photos of the characters that are all anime drawlings. Some of which unfortunitly were taken from real anime shows. I want to put my story on my website that I am working on, but copywrites will be a problem for my character photos. Most of them are not from real anime shows, but still should be copywrited to the websites they came from. (If I can find the websites).

Anyway.. Sorry.

The story itself is about a girl named Kiyone Nakatoyo. (All the characters have japanese first and last names.)

Kiyone has been battling depression for six years. She is convinced that her parents love her 10 year old sister Yuzuki much more than they would ever care about her. Kiyone is jealous of her younger sister because she excells in everything.

Kiyone's parents are Christians and take the two girls to church every Sunday. Kiyone however, unlike Yuzuki, never got very much out of church.

Kiyone is so upset one day she decides to end her life. At church one Sunday, she is about ready to kill herself in the bathroom, when in walks a teen girl that is Kiyone's age named Tae, who stops her before she does anything.

Tae soon becomes Kiyone's best friend, and promises that she will help Kiyone in any way she can, including to help Kiyone become a Christian.

And that's all I'm going to say because I don't want to give the ending away.

I decided to combine my last two stories into this one. It's a little different than my other ones, but I'm determined to get this one done and to stop procastinating like I did on the other ones.

I'm about to commence work on a Quest at Chubb's DBZ RPG. Me and someone else are probably gonna put at least 10,000 words into it. Not a whole lot, but it's still an upcoming project.

"Tomorrow Never Came" is a novel I am writing and "UnDefined" is the biography of my immediate family. The novel is as far as chapter two and the bio as far as chapter three. I try to toggle between the two of them on alternate weeks so that I am progressing more or less evenly on both at the same time.
In the publishing world, I'm trying to locate a publisher for my second book.
In the promotional and marketing world, I'm getting the word out about my first book through various avenues . . .
