  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have two really, but I'm working on a Christian novel called Two Fathers, One Life.

It's about a young girl who's mother was killed in a hit and run by her father when she was only seven. Before her mother was killed, the girl's mother was a devoted Christian and always took her daughter to church and loved her very much.

I can't quite remember why he killed her, I have to look over my notes again, but the young girl now motherless is forced to live with her father since she has no place to go. Her father is abusive both physically and verbally, but she is forced by her father to not reviel his ways or he will kill her.

What happened at the hit and run was that the daughter and her mother were walking down the street on the sidewalk around 8:00 one night, so naturally, when the girl's mother was hit and killed, the girl saw everything. Like the promise she made to her father not to tell anyone about his behavior, she was also made to promise not to tell anyone about how she knew what happened to her mother. No one else did but her and her father.

Eventually, when the girl hits 18, she meets another girl at her high school named Leah. After what the girl had been through since her mother was killed, she was not allowed to go to church anymore, or really do anything except be a slave to her father and attend school. So all her friends from before her mom was killed faded away.

But Leah was different. She reaches out to the teenager and becomes the girl's newest and closest friend. And eventually discoveres the girl's secret about her father and past life.

The thing about Leah is, she attends the same church that this girl used to attend with her mother, though the girl had never met Leah then.

It is up to Leah to help this girl through her problems, help her to stand up to her father, and to bring her back to Christ.

And that's all I'm going to say. :)

Amazing how I know all this about the novel itself already, yet all I have are a few typed pages of plot and character outlines right now. :D

Lets see, I have a few writing projects going on apart from writing songs...

I'm in the middle of writing 2 screenplays for major motion pictures.

The first, I'm hoping will turn into a series set of movies. They are based on a book series but I can't give any information on them due to legal matters.

The second is a chick flick... I want to say romantic comedy, but there is a lot of drama in it as well. It's been a difficult one for me to write being based on a true story which hits a little close to home. But I have high hopes for it.

As for books, I've started my own fantasy series but I'm putting that on hold for a bit I think. I also will be writing a few books for building your dreams and reaching your goals.

Currently I am focusing on a fantasy story, I don't have a title for it (I'm horrible at coming up with titles)...I'm still working on the plot for it, though. The main character is banished from her home and ends up being kidnapped by pirates and sold into slavery....I think. I haven't gotten that far in the plot line yet.

Another story I've worked on, off and on, for the past year, which I've decided to totally redo and change, is a historical. Originally it was set in the early 1800s, right before the War of 1812 and going into it, but I've decided to move it ahead to the 1830s...I think...I haven't worked on it in a while, though.

I also have another fantasy I'd like to finish sometime soon, that's sort of like the Chronicles of Narnia--it's about a girl from the real world who is transported to another world. I do have a title for it though--The Girl From The Mountain.

 Greetings, Writers!

Most currently, I'm using every opportunity here at CF to practice my craft -- little rhymes, banter, scenarios, use of poetic devices when I can. What a good place to do that! :amen:

I am always writing poetry. It comes to me from an intriguing word, turn of phrase, often an emotion tied to a specific event -- anger and grief, for instance. I LOVE the business of poetry. To search and find the word that feels right, to try different genres and find the one that matches the sentiment, to work from the center and build in spirals around the thought ... delicious!

I have completed the first/millionth draft of two books -- one a simplistic Christian romance, the other a character study from the point of view of the adolescent male lead. I think it has promise, :) although it's already been rejected once :sigh: .

A humor piece about the anti-carbohydrate craze is sitting (cooling off) after one rejection, and I'm about ready to operate & try to excise the problems. :prayer: cb

 Sorry -- just remembered a couple other projects.

I have three picture books. The most recent one is a collaboration; my son wrote the Spanish & I wrote the English. In the earlier two, I illustrated. One was ink & watercolor, and the other was cut construction paper. Both were pretty simplified. I see the third as being photographs.

Another little romance has been about 2/3 finished for ten years. My daughter was enraptured -- laughed, and devoured each page. When she ran into my room and said, "Here, where's the next chapter?" and I explained I hadn't written it yet, she was first stunned, then furious. She promised (threatened) that she would NEVER read anything I wrote until it had "THE END" on it. And she's stuck by it. :( cb

Story #A: A girl struggles with depression and anxiety and panic attacks; she hates all things disney. It's a comedy. "Baby Steps" is the working title.

Story #B: A sci-fiction about a Mexican immigrant. "You'll know where you are with". Time travel, biotechnology, theater, and disappointment. Working title: [ inserts ]

Story #C: So far titled: The Scarlet. I'm pretty sure it'll change. It's an artless, purposely disjointed, bad narrative about villains and superheroes. No one is good. Americans and Communists and Nuns and Popstars and the Conservative.

my main projects (meaning novels, not short stories):

Blue: Legacy
A corrupt democracy is replaced with a coup de tat, headed by a syndicate known as the Internation Police Force. With the help of the Blue Assassins, they were able to eliminate the old democracy restore peace. However, two generations later, Captain Jared Horosu banishes the Blue Assassins and condmens them to death for murdering countless political celeberities. Three parts: Ultimatum, Pilgrimage and Mutiny; possibly a fourth part entitled Julia.

Zachariah
Zachariah is an angel of death sent to earth thousands of years ago. Although some earth angels can go back to heaven , he has not been called back yet. As he loses faith that there is a God, he meets various characters. Sort of an autobiography form.

Butterfly Technology
Technology roughly based on the Butterfly Effect, (stating that the flap of a butterfly's wings in one dimmension can cause someone in another dimmension to pull out a machine gun and mow down a classroom of kids), is exploited by a business for their own use. A new generation of fortune tellers arise, claiming that they can use this technology to fulfill their patron's dreams. The business carelessly kills, tortures, rapes, and steals whatever is necessary to get more money.

Demon
A demon sent to earth begins an underground in the pure Angel City; a city built over the post-apocolypse world led by a race who get the name Angels because of their pure white skin. Told through a collection of stories based in the same area with the same group of characters.

Death Talker
After Sydney's motehr and sister die in a freak car accident, she moves in with her aunt. One day, she finds an exotic flower on her door step. After picking it up, she finds that the specter of death follows her, and only she can see him.

My short stories collection (meaning under 40 pages)

Spaceship Marathon 5
Aye, my first shot at sci fi space fic. The Marathon 5 was sent out for help as a last ditch effort when a force (at first thought to be God and his legion of angels, since then proven otherwise) attacks earth. Only one member survives it's voyage. Spaceship Marathon 5 recounts the before, during, and after effects of it's voyage.

Under the Waterfall, Under the Bridge, Under the Cave-in
A three part series, no main title to call them. A girl goes on vacation with her family at the beginning of summer break when she meets an island boy she knew as a kid. He takes her to a waterfall, and instead of a romantic moment as she is expecting, the wall disappears, and on the other side is what appears to be an academy. She is banished there, because she possess a gift that her family (and many others) sees as a curse and a threat. Originally sent to die, she escapes, only to return there later for someone she left behind.

Privelleged Information
A crook is sent to kidnap a boy as part of a larger scheme to get to some money. However, a girl mistakes the boy to be her brother, and so to avoid any problems he accidently kidnaps her instead.

Point of Vision
An award winning author goes on a world tour, only to find out that one of the characters is stalking her. As she tries to rid the stalker, she battles her own sanity and the growing crowd of fans. I got this idea after reading Dean Koontz...is it one of his books?

Dragon Whistle
A traveller falls at the Baker's front doorstep. He agrees to telling stories in exchange for food, as the family is on the outskirts of the Royal manner. He gives the little girl the Dragon Whistle. It reccounts his journies as well as the little girl's journies with the dragon whistle.

Into The Metronome
Reccounts the journy of a nameless big band trying to become famous in a predominately rock n roll world.
