I am sorry if I sound kind of stupid, but what is cable knitting?
Hi Jacqueline, nothing stupid about wanting to know something....cable knitting is a technique of working stitches out of order to create the appearance of cables. Visualize Aran/Irish fisherman sweaters.

Recently finished tatting 165 bookmarks for the women at church for Mother's Day. I had enough made that many were able to take their mothers/daughters/grandmothers and various other female relatives and friends a bookmark.

Now I am working on a special order of additional bookmarks as well as getting my Christmas tatting started. Snowflakes, Crosses, Angels, Stockings, Trees, and Candles for gifts, cards, and Ornaments.

Well done you!. I'm sure all the ladies loved those. I have a friend who does tatting. She tried to teach me once, but I couldn't get the hang of it.

Do you have any pictures?

The second of a pair of slippers. I have had problems with both these slippers as I have been doing them in fuzzy yarn and when I make a mistake I end up having to frog the lot. I'm just about the part where I start decreasing, so I'm hoping I'll get to the end soon without making any more mistakes lol.

I'm working on paintings for an art festival I'm participating in next month that are also counting as credit for my class.

I want to learn how to sew at some point so I can make curtains out of this really beautiful fabric I saw at Mood.

@Fatherhavemercy - I like the afghan.

Greetings, I'm new to this board; glad to see a fellowship of knitters, crocheters and needlecrafters. My current project is a crochet shawl which I have spent more time on than any other project by far - probably about 18 months now. It's a triangular shawl done with a size 20 crochet cotton in a quasi fisherman's net look. The net body is now completed and I'm adding a scalloped border around it and I may or may not add a fringe. I've also crocheted 45 granny squares and medallions, each one different, to be sewn on top of the mesh pattern in 15 groups of 3. Lastly, I intend to dye it a blush color. Sometimes, when I've had my fill of the shawl, I take a break from it and work on a knit afghan - that's also been in the works for well over a year. Someday, and I truly hope it's someday soon, I'll have these projects completed so that I can work on something new!

Sounds like there's a lot of work involved in that shawl. Good idea to have another project to go to for the occasional change of focus.

Not sure if I found the right thread. I just finished doing this:

jpf13l.jpg

I was using photoshop, and gathered some pictures to produce this. I'm not the original owner of those pictures but credit goes to all of them.

I do know credit goes to Akiane Kramatik who is the artist for the Jesus pic. Such a talented and hard working artist. Love her story how she started.
