Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse

A movie equal parts serious, funny, and heartfelt isn't easy to make work but this one does it. The writing, acting, and animation nail it. Sony is hitting home runs lately.

There is very little messaging for a modern film. Even though it can get a bit dark, it's really a pretty wholesome movie, with a nice focus on parenthood. That's about as much as I can say without spoiling things. It's better not to know too much going in. The movie has a lot going on but manages to juggle it really well. ^-^
Well, we saw it. I say overall I liked it.

I defintiely could've gone out with the 'Protect Trans Kids' poster, but I loved the themes of parenthood & family as well!!! I'm sure they mean it in a 'out of the closet' message, but it's a shared value for Christians as well.

Yeah I think with Gwen they were relating it to coming out they still leave it open to interpretation. The family stuff really made it feel grounded compared to a lot of comic book movies, even though I like them too. It was cool how intense the movie could be with Miguel and also be funny like the Lego scene lol. I think it juggled a lot well.

After Church and prayer tomorrow, I will probably binge watch Six Feet Under. I have too much time on my hands.

Watched some of Alfred Hitchcock's The Birds. In some ways I think it might have inspired the zombie genre.

Although I can't really find this movie too scary... if anything, all the birds flying around is a weird mix of adorable and humorous to me.

Here is a video on how introverts view interactions. Although I suspect most here are rather introverted, I recommend this to extroverts so they understand us better.

The only thing I disagree w/ him is: I agree with extroverts small talk is needed to get to the good stuff. He thinks you can jump right in to the good stuff. But I do agree most of the time small talk doesn’t go anywhere & is useless.

Man! what happened to late night talk shows. Now political mouth pieces posing as a late night host, even Letterman became that way in the end. He lost what made him great.

This is a great example of a classic late night appearance by Crispin Glover on Letterman

and another one

Annihilation (2018). Film loosely based on the Southern Reach trilogy by Jeff Vandermeer. Decent cosmic horror (aka Lovecraftian horror) film. However, the books are superior (Annihilation, Authority, and Acceptance) to the film.

The Flash was surprisingly good. It was cool how it tied in Keaton's Batman and I liked Sasha as Supergirl. Hope we see more of her. Ezra really does do great in the double role, making them feel like different people. It's just a fun movie. I loved the calorie counter that he has to check because he burns a trillion calories when speeding around.
