A Korean series called "Bimilui Soop". It's really good, but the episodes are too long and the seasons are also too long (at least season 1 is 16 episodes).

I'm enjoying it a lot though, I'm watching an episode every couple of days or so. I can't commit to watch 1 hour+ epis every day. I'm really impatient, I'm sure the longer episodes and seasons wouldn't be much of an issue for most people.

I finished Psych Season 1. Fantastic show. Very funny.

Samson (Pureflix movie)
I really liked this movie. It’s the story of Samson. What is there not to like?
One thing I liked, when you read the Bible, you almost get the sense Samson is just killing the Philistines for fun, or best-case scenario a quick temper. This movie tried to expand why Samson might’ve acted the way he did. Not
I liked the acting. Samson was kind of flat & poorly acted, but everyone else did well, especially the villains.
My favorite action scene was when he uses the jawbone as a weapon against the Phillistines. I think the movie did a good job portraying how that might’ve happened.
But this is more of a drama movie.
One thing I can’t figure out is Delilah. Does she really regret her betrayal of Samson? She dies during the collapse of the temple at the end. I thought she’d be welcomed with the Hebrews, kind of a redemption/forgiveness arc, but the creators chose to kill her instead.
I think it’s clear the creators were trying to tie Samson’s story to Jesus’s. There’s a lot of parallels.
So I recommend this movie if you like Bible/Christian movies.
I give this a 5/5

Yeah, I saw Samson before and it's not one that I wanted to re-watch.

This music video is blowing me away right now:

Everything about this music video is impactful in a deep level. I think it being showed in Black and White makes this feel fimeless. I like how Mariah Carey look on here and how they do the zoom in shots with her on camera and going to the mainly black choir on the stairs. and then showing the lovely black children or elderly black people on the video.

Maybe I like the video as it has a Nostalgic appeal. There was once a great family on my mother's (black) side, and the 90s was strong. One of the memorable 90s highlights was a trip I took to New York City in 1991, where I met allot of Black relatives and bascially toured the place for a month. I was 15 years old at the time but I had so much energy and was very interested in exploring that place. In contrast, today it feels rather weak and fragmented (ie a number of family members have died or become estranged) and I feel more isolated than ever before. Then this video is discovered, and I like re-playing it, especially on a large screen. I don't know if it's like I'm dancing with ghosts from the past from the 90s, or if it's something that I need today, even if it's on the level of kind words and lovely music/visuals.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay
This was good. Nothing spectacular. I'm growing to like Deadshot more & more I'm exposed to him. This movie you don't need to know much about the DC universe to understand. I thought the story was a little weak. The concept of a 'get out of hell free' card, even in a supernatural setting, didn't make a ton of sense, & 3 teams vying for it was a little too much in a 90 minute movie. I did enjoy the interactions in the Suicide Squad & there were a couple small twists that keep you interested. I preferred the Assault on Arkham movie, b/c it had more twists & turns in it & was more grounded.
I give this a 4/5. If I used the point system, it'd probably be more a 3.7 or 3.6 but I don't do that so I'll round it up to a 4.

Coco
I was originally concerned this was another dumb 'follow your dreams' 'tradition is meant to be destroyed' 'the world is your family' movie. But the movie's message is more 'preserve tradition' & 'respect family'. I thought exploring Mexican culture brought a lot new to the table. This movie reminds me of classic Pixar, a nice return to form after all the (I thought mainly uninspiring) sequels they've been churning out. The characters, the music, the animation, the themes, etc. All good. The only negative I thought was this movie had another 'twist villain' plot which Disney is doing a lot & is getting old. I particularly reccomend this if you are interested in Latin America culture, or liked Pixar's first few movies more than the more recent ones.
I give this a 5/5

I watched a little bit of college football today too.

I watched a little bit of college football today too.

I watched CoCo on a 58 inch HD TV in my basement a few years ago (that size is a bit hard on these letter-box movies, but the visuals were still nice), and it was quite an experience to watch it. It was creepy (ie not sure if I'm comfortable with non-Christian representations of death and after-life lore as I'm always feel something demonic is involved somewhere in these things). With me, it was a fun-watch, the guitar thing, and all that. There was allot of hype on it and video reviews at the time it was released in cinema so I was looking forward to watching it at home when it came out on Blu-Ray, but I wasn't turned-on enough to want to watch it more than once.
How many times have you re-watched this? Any reason you selected to watch this type of movie out of the blue? How did you watch it? Did you use a streaming service or DVD/Blu-Ray?
