Incredible series.Better Call Saul.
Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay
This was good. Nothing spectacular. I'm growing to like Deadshot more & more I'm exposed to him. This movie you don't need to know much about the DC universe to understand. I thought the story was a little weak. The concept of a 'get out of hell free' card, even in a supernatural setting, didn't make a ton of sense, & 3 teams vying for it was a little too much in a 90 minute movie. I did enjoy the interactions in the Suicide Squad & there were a couple small twists that keep you interested. I preferred the Assault on Arkham movie, b/c it had more twists & turns in it & was more grounded.
I give this a 4/5. If I used the point system, it'd probably be more a 3.7 or 3.6 but I don't do that so I'll round it up to a 4.
Coco
I was originally concerned this was another dumb 'follow your dreams' 'tradition is meant to be destroyed' 'the world is your family' movie. But the movie's message is more 'preserve tradition' & 'respect family'. I thought exploring Mexican culture brought a lot new to the table. This movie reminds me of classic Pixar, a nice return to form after all the (I thought mainly uninspiring) sequels they've been churning out. The characters, the music, the animation, the themes, etc. All good. The only negative I thought was this movie had another 'twist villain' plot which Disney is doing a lot & is getting old. I particularly reccomend this if you are interested in Latin America culture, or liked Pixar's first few movies more than the more recent ones.
I give this a 5/5
I watched a little bit of college football today too.
This was my first time watching.I watched CoCo on a 58 inch HD TV in my basement a few years ago (that size is a bit hard on these letter-box movies, but the visuals were still nice), and it was quite an experience to watch it. It was creepy (ie not sure if I'm comfortable with non-Christian representations of death and after-life lore as I'm always feel something demonic is involved somewhere in these things). With me, it was a fun-watch, the guitar thing, and all that. There was allot of hype on it and video reviews at the time it was released in cinema so I was looking forward to watching it at home when it came out on Blu-Ray, but I wasn't turned-on enough to want to watch it more than once.
How many times have you re-watched this? Any reason you selected to watch this type of movie out of the blue? How did you watch it? Did you use a streaming service or DVD/Blu-Ray?
Great movie! Haven't seen it in yearsGoing to watch A Fish Called Wanda. Love this film.
