I have been watching Digimon w/ a friend. We are almost done w/ Season 1. It can be cartoony & childish, & not in a good way. But that the monsters are usually in their ‘cute’ form makes it that much cooler when they digivolve into their cooler forms to kick butt. I do like it when they digivolve, especially when they digivolve & tag team. My favorite it the wolf Garuumon. (Garuuuuuuumon lol). It’s okay to watch w/ a friend but overall I think I’m above the age of the target audience.

I watched Moon Knight per friend’s recommendation. I really like the Moon Knight scenes. He’s like a mix of Ghost Rider & Batman. I really liked the episode about his past. The villain is really well done. I haven’t liked the MCU lately but this show is better then what the ‘haters’ say, tho I can see the criticisms. It’s only 6 episodes so can be watched quickly. I recommend this if you like superhero shows. I liked it!

I watched The Falcon & The Winter Soilder per friend’s recommendation. The messaging the haters talk about is there, but some of the messaging is good. The show’s biggest crime is it’s just boring. Another criticism I have I don’t hear haters talk about is everything is just morally gray, no one’s really good or evil. Also I thought the new Captain America was more interesting than the Falcon & the Winter Soilder. I didn’t like they were so mean to him. Watch it to burn some time, like Moon Knight, it’s only 6 episodes

I remember watching that show a bit growing up, I should watch it sometime now. I really like her in Clarissa Explains it All.
I liked Clarissa Explains It All too. :) Nickelodeon was great then, shows like All That and Are You Afraid of the Dark?

When I was young, I watched Sabrina but saw random episodes. You do get a little development watching it in order. At least for the Sabrina and Harvey part. I enjoy the kind of silly celebrity cameos like Randy Travis because shows don't really do that these days.

I saw Digimon as a kid. It worked well for that age at least, since its one of those shows that kind of matures as it goes, with later villains being more intimidating like Devilmon. The angel digimon are really cool since you don't see angels much in anime.

Yep, Nickelodeon was my favorite over Cartoon Network & Disney. Not a bad show was on it. The intro for Are You Afraid of the Dark is still creepy!

I’m glad you like Clarissa! Most people don’t seem to remember it. She’s remembered for Sabrina.

I like the angel Digimon too! The show has a lot of really not-intimitdating villians

I could remember the Clarissa theme song before I watched it again, "Way cool!" lol. But I forgot the outfit thing. Everyone wants her to try on a different outfit. Which made me realize the Sabrina multi-outfit opening is probably a nod to Clarissa's opening.

I do think Digimon is a show that gets better as it goes. They introduce interesting characters like Leomon. By the ending it was pretty epic.

I think Monk season 2 is even better than season 1. I like that they have episodes featuring the family of the main characters. John Turturro is excellent as Monk's genius but agoraphobic brother Ambrose. It's funny and extremely heartfelt. Another thing about Monk is it has some of the most unusual cases. If you prefer a show that's not always easy to guess what's going on, Monk is that show.

Yep, Ambrose is one of my favorites. I like how even tho a lot of the cases are hard, a lot of episodes it shows you how the crime happened right at the start so you know what happened but the heroes don’t. I don't have a bad thing to say about the show. I really like it.

I've seen five episodes of Farscape. I was surprised at the similarities to Guardians of the Galaxy. Both series feature a human guy that gets stuck in space around aliens. Aeryn, like Gamora, previously worked for the enemy. Although Aeryn resembles humans unlike Gamora. D'argo is big and strong like Drax. Rygel is small and furry, so a little like Rocket. He's at 0:15. The Muppet people made him and other characters.

James Gunn admitted the inspiration of Farscape on GOTG. Cool to see older stuff and notice the influence it had.

MLB Milwaukee @ Atlanta: Brewers got to a 6-0 lead early & never looked back. They won 10-0 & Braves got shut out for the second game in a row. I wanted Atlanta

Golf: A lot of the men & women’s Olympics & Wyndham

Moon Knight: was re-watching it w/ another friend.

I watched Lok season 1. As a Christian & someone who likes religious topics, I like the discussions on free-will vs pre-determination. I don't like the show's conclusion to that topic. The show’s largely boring, but it’s constantly belittling & bemeaning him to hype up the female variant to the point he becomes just a side-character. There’s a lot of messaging in the show she’s the superior one & he’s just a buffoon who's a coward & is subserviant. I liked a couple of the plot twists & Owen Wilson’s character (although he’s treated as a buffoon more often then not too). I did like the last 2 episodes. I liked the part where the Loki Variant creates a large mirage of Asgard (tho the scene reminded me of The Last Jedi), Alligator Loki who steals the show, & Kang. There's a lot of parallels to Genesis in this - the man not there & the woman 'takes the bite out of the apple.' . So in summary, it’s mostly boring & the 2 male characters are treated as buffoons, but there’s some good in it too. Watch it if you have some time to burn, it’s only 6 episodes

Episodes of Avengers Assemble & Ultimate Spider-Man. Both these shows looked like cash-grabs to capitalize on the success of the movies but the episodes I watched were really well-done. I was impressed.

I enjoyed Loki season one more than you did, but I understand your complaints. Season two is unfortunately worse. Loki warping to different time periods uncontrollably overcomplicates the story. The plot is somewhat hard to follow and feels too serious and dry for a Loki show. I only got two or three episodes in before giving up. Out of the Marvel shows, Hawkeye is probably my favorite. Good balance of characters, action, and comedy.

I was expecting to really not like it, the show is really divisive, but I liked it enough I want to jump right into season 2, but friend says watch Hawkeye next. I've liked Moon Knight the best so far. I'll do ranking of them all when I'm done.

Maybe you'll end up liking Loki season 2 more than I did. Going in with low expectations can help. Moon Knight had some pretty cool moments and I like Oscar Isaacs's acting. I'll be curious about your ranking later. ^-^

So I've seen more of Farscape. I was hoping the crew would start to feel more like a team. It doesn't really. There will be an episode where characters seem to be getting along better, than the next one, they're back to insults like it never happened. Tied to that is how characters will be reasonable one minute, crazy the next. It's like most of the crew is Jekyll and Hyde.

For me it just feels like the show doesn't have enough structure or consistency. If anyone wants a sci-fi show that's not Star Trek, SG-1 is still the go to for me.

I wonder if it’s an older show & that’s why? Back when shows didn’t really connect episodes?

Yes, I have seen people say that. There is some truth there. However, it is really jarring with Farscape. In SG-1 or Star Trek, the leads are essentially heroes and friends, or at least have good working relationships. With Farscape the characters jump back and forth between acting heroic or extremely selfish, friendly to each other or like enemies. It feels like tonal whiplash.

The Band Wagon 1953

A group gets together to do a Broadway show with a serious director who has never done a musical before. What makes this movie work so well is the characters and their perspective are set up so well. You feel for the frustrated aging star, the young and intimidated ballet dancer, the writing couple whose trying to rewrite the script with no time, and the passionate director who gets carried away.

It's a great example of a "everything keeps falling apart but somehow works out" story line. As you can maybe guess, Fred Astaire, despite being in his 50s, absolutely kills it, with one of the numbers being so genius it seemingly inspired Michael Jackson's Smooth Criminal music video.

I watched Loki Season 2. I thought it was boring & hard to understand. I wanted to quit on it but felt ‘committed’ after 2 episodes but just had it on in the background after that. Loki Season 1 was a fun adventure conspiracy type show & despite its flaws watchable, but I don’t recommend Season 2 even if you like the MCU. If you like the MCU, I’m sure they’ll summarize what happened in a future work.

Some motorcross, some of the NASCAR Michigan ARCA race, & some of the Xfinity race.

I watched all of the Michigan Cup Race. Race finished on Monday due to rain. I was thinking before the race cars don’t flip over anymore & all the big sponsors pulled out: well, in this race: Tony LaJoie’s car flipped, & Tyler Reddick in the McDonald’s 48 car won.

I had previously recorded this year’s Detroit Grand Prix from June & finally watched it. Scott Dixon won. I have friends & family who are big NASCAR fans so usually watch that when I watch car racing, but this was my first Indycar race I’ve watched. I watched my first F1 race last year. F1 was my least favorite. I really liked this Indycar race. Maybe more than NASCAR races I’ve watched recent? I’ll have to check out more Indycar races!

I’ve been watching NASCAR videos on YouTube, mainly about how popular it used to be & why it’s fallen off. I remember how big it was in the 90s & 2000s, the YouTube videos say it was as big as the NFL in its heyday, & I believe that, it was everywhere back then.

I watched the Daytona Xfinity series race. Ryan Truex won

Loki season two seems confused on why people liked season one or Loki in general. Making a Loki show very serious and complicated is just an odd choice. Sometimes Marvel is too comedic but too serious can be just as much of a mistake. Season one had a pretty good balance.

I don’t mind serious, but I do feel all the heart got taken out that was even in Season 1. I just felt so confused in general. It was all “science” & time travel jargon & not explained very well, including what they were doing & why they were doing it.
