So You Don't Want to Go to Church Anymore - Jacobsen, Wayne & Dave Coleman.

This follows Jake who meets a man called John. He is convinced that he is one of Jesus' original apostles. He meets with him 13 times, and it is about Jake's re-invigoration to faith.

I particularly like this book as it focuses on why fellowship is so important. It must be Jesus said so : Acts 2:42 (NIV) - "They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."

Futurecast_-_George_Barna.jpg

Futurecast by Barna. Interesting stats about society, faith, etc. I'm not sure how the stats are extrapolated into "facts" or trends and often the trends are used to declare relation equals causation. At least that is implied.

I recommend it.

The second book I'm picking away at is Gleanings from Paul by Pink. What an amazing book! Should I dare say...life changing? Pink examines the apostolic prayers of Paul recorded in sacred scripture and gleans gems from each line, phrase and even words used!

This book will change your practice of prayer and allow you to pray more faithfully and biblically.

Highly recommended. I'm reading the free epub/ebook edition found here.

Good Day,

Finished Risky Gospel - Strachan... I loved it
Now reading Prepared by Grace for Grace- Beeke and Smalley

I think I've already seen one by Beecke, or have read some of it. Seems like a sound writer.

Blessings.

Counterfeit Gods by Tim Keller . . . . even though he's *gasp* a Presbyterian.

Enjoying so far!

That's a good book.

Right now I finished up 'All Things for Good' by Thomas Watson and also reading 'The Gospel According to Jesus' by John MacArthur. Next on the list is 'Not a fan' by Kyle Idleman and 'Existence and Attributes of God' by Stephen Charnock.
