What are you obsessive/compulsive about?

when I just emptied the dish washer and cleaned the kitchen and my two younger brothers come into the kitchen, leave their dirty dishes on the counter and dont put them in the dishwasher and than leave whatever they took out on the counter for me to put away!. BA! I just wish that they could finally learn that my mom and I are not their maids. They are 18 and 15 even! grrrrr....

Anything concerning my car, which is actually my father's car- I don't want to return it to him eventually, and have it look like it's been in a war zone. So I'm a tad obsessive about keeping it clean (my friends could go on about this for a while) and I'm constantly going back and checking that I locked it and set the parking brake.

Also must have at least a sheet covering my middle,I have no idea why. Makes me think of Eddie Murphy after making "Vampire In Brooklyn" he said on a talk show it was really weird that he agreed to do a vampire movie,since he has a phobia about them and must sleep with a sheet at least over his neck! The rest of his body can be uncovered. Of course he knows it makes no sense whatsoever that a sheet over his neck could stop a vampire,but as long as it is in place he can sleep peacefully! I too can sleep peacefully as long as that sheet is across my middle.

I know ever since seeing the Living Doll episode of Twilight Zone with "Talky Tina",I hate dolls and will not have one in my home. When my 2 girls were small they had to keep their dolls in a closet at night,although I never told them why,LOL! Funny since I love the horror genre, and do not have nightmares. So let's see that makes 3 that I have,LOL!

I too can sleep peacefully as long as that sheet is across my middle.

LOL. Then my wish for you is that you will always have a sheet across your middle. I like a sheet up to my neck, but am not compulsive about it. By morning my bed is a disaster area. haha.

The closet doors is one I feel sure most of us share, even though it is such a habit making sure they are closed, that I didn't even think of it,until you REMINDED me,LOL!

*I check my msn all the time, although, I'm often too lazy to chat with people and don't care for instant messaging much anyway -weird.
*Hygiene -I HAVE to take a shower and wash my hair regularly or I might just die
*I'm always worrying about my hair; not that anyone gives a hoot but for my own comfort it has to look just right.
*I have to fold my clean laundry the correct way and putting it in the closet inside out would be an awful crime.
*I have my cds arranged in alphabetical order.
*I'm very obsessed with my handwriting; the wrong kind of curve in a letter gets erased and redone. I'm a grammar freak too.

I think I'll keep the rest as a secret

Wow! You guys sound like me! I keep thinking of other stuff that I guess qualifies has obsessive/compulsive behaviour.

I'm with you on hygeine...if I go more than 24 hours without washing my hair I freak out!

My cassettes are currently in alphabetical order (yeah, I still have 'em...my older car only has a cassette deck and I use them in the walkman when I get the urge to workout because tapes don't eat batteries like cd's do!)

Toilet paper....if a roll runs out and I'm the last person to use it....I HAVE to replace the empty roll....no matter where I am (assuming a new roll is available)

I've gotten addicted to caffeine (coffee, lattes, Mountain Dew). I may have already mentioned this.....

which brings me to another point....

I think I tend to repeat things just because they may be something pleasant to recall or talk about.....or in some cases, they aren't and I need to vent....AGAIN

I have to eat Mexican food at least once a week

I know what you mean. My 'day job' is a job that involves a lot of travelling around 4 states. I get to stop and pick up a cappucino whenever along the way. Not to mention, some days I'm sooooooooo tired I *need* it to stay awake and alert on the road. My *Saturday* job requires me to be awake and alert at 5:30am......next to impossible for me! lol

I like to make sure there is plenty of toilet tissue, at all times. Plenty means at least ten rolls. :/

Also, I cannot sleep without socks on my feet, for some reason....

I was very compulsive about washing my hands. When it got to be over 20 times in a given day, I forced myself to sit with dirt on my hands for hours to break myself of it.

I cannot have any part of my body hanging over the bed,no hands,arms,feet or legs. I feel like something "under there" could grab them,even though I have no problem sleeping with my back towards the edge,and my 4 year old granddaughter couldn't even fit under there,since my bed sits so low. I know,"Pathetic",LOL!

I have a habit of checking the time constantly when I'm expecting company, when expecting a phone call, or when I'm cooking. I love sweets. I also have a habit of making sure the doors are locked and my bedroom door is locked before I go to bed.

I know,I guess that is why it's called an obession,because it is totally irrational to even think of such a thing,same as my fear of dolls and clowns. I mean no adult should fear any doll is really going to say"I'm Talky Tina and you better be nice to me",LOL! Very tempting to study psychology just to study phobias,LOL!
