Got a chuckle out of this description as we've had a similar sentiment about this song, but couldn't quite put our finger on quite how to express it!

Well young lady, you have excellent taste in simple three chord rock songs. It's interesting that this was a '70's radio hit. A lot of the words don't rhyme, there's no bridge, and no guitar solo. And a lot of songs have weird lyrics, but these lyrics are weird in a weird different way. But you have the brilliant drumming of Bun E. Carlos, hands down the best drummer in Accounts Receivable.
