To be fair - we don't have Chickfila in Canada (unfortunately).

Whew, I've been vindicated. haha I really had no idea what it was :D

Hmm...I'm not a huge fan of action movies, in fact, everyone but the littles (who are in bed) and me :D are watching an action movie as I type here. I passed on it. I do love Marvel and some action flicks, but I must confess I am a sappy romantic movie lover.

Has anyone played Organ Attack? Someone told me about that card game on this forum and I asked for it for Christmas. It was a HUGE hit! Everyone loves it, even my littlest sister. We had a blast playing card games all afternoon. I adore playing games with family. :)

I've heard of Chick-fil-A, but really only as "that strange religious fast food company in America." I kind of had a vague idea that they were one of those companies that refused health insurance for contraceptives for their employees, but when I googled I couldn't find that, so maybe I was confusing them with someone else!

Never heard of Organ Attack.

Husband, daughter and I spent yesterday afternoon with my parents and three of my brothers' children; I was heartbroken for them, Christmas day and my brother didn't show up and couldn't even make a phone call. No idea where he is or when he will see his children next. They put a brave face on it, but you could tell it was hard.

Yes. Sadly my brother's life is off the rails, and while that's bad for him, he has six children who are all missing out because of it. I worry about how this will affect them for the rest of their lives, and the cycle of dysfunctional family going on... :(

Chic-fil-A was not known as anything other than a normal fast food place that served chicken instead of hamburgers until a few years ago with the whole gay marriage cake thing started making headlines. THen it came out the chain was closed on Sundays because they were fundamentalist Christians that owned it, and would not cover “domestic partners” on health insurance regardless of gender. A bunch of rumors started flying around like what you heard and that they fired gays. As fundamental Protestants, I do not think there was a problem with contraception.

We totally played that at my sister's house for Christmas! Super fun! As my husband describes it, it's almost like an easy version of Magic the Gathering (and in being easy it's much more fun)

Watched a movie called "About time" on tree plane home last night and sobbed. It was so good! Has anyone else seen it?

Just finished taking the presidential fitness challenge like you take in elementary school. Thought it might be a fun metric to track my fitness progress.

It's embarrassing how much worse i am now than when i was a kid.

Chilling most of the day. We are still on Federal Government furlough due to the budget situation.

Going to a close friend’s wedding tonight.

Yeah. - it was fun. I first met Steve in Sept ‘74, and ended up leading him to the Lord a month later. Pam was a co worker with my wife 20 years ago. They met each other back then. Steve was widowed back in ‘17.

The reception was first, with board games and puzzles; snacks and drinks; karaoke and dancing until 11:30, then a time of congregational worship until midnight when the actual marriage ceremony took place. Kinda backwards but if you knew them, that works for them. They both have sizable families, mostly grown. One daughter of each (early 20s?) were sitting side by side in the front row and having a blast.

The minister/Rabbi has been a friend for a lot of years. He was youth minister to our son and 2 daughters when we first moved here. He was in a local seminary at the time and Steve was his prof.

All in all a very good evening.

Happy New Year!!!!
