Roots episode 2.

Probably haven't seen this show since I was a child. Kind of surprised about the nudity, I know it's not in a sexual way... but I have a hard time believing this was shown on 1970s TV. Regardless, it's a really good show.

I watched an old movie titled: Birdy. 1984.

It has Matthew Modine and Nicholas Cage in it. I found it thoroughly depressing.

Thinking of Watching a 1979 movie tonight titled: Wise Blood.

Dang never thought I'd see those two actors together in a movie. Sounds interesting.

I really disliked it. Good acting but it was not my type of movie.

Aww alright.

Just like I'm getting into video games again I'm also getting into watching films again too.

I have gotten into watching some films in the evening. I stepped away from it for awhile but if you run across a good one it can take you away from the worries of the day. Good books do that as well.

Yeah, it's just hard for me these days.. so little free time.. although it's looking like I'll have less overtime work hours starting next week, so I'll have more time to devout to such things. Which I am totally fine with.

I forgot that Alex Haley who created Roots also made the TV movie Queen staring a young Halle Berry. That film is quite good too. A lot more modern looking in cinematography and tone. Although it's about 30 years old now.

TV used to have a lot of nudity, compared to today's prudish standards.

Really? I know the 1970s television allowed some stuff you wouldn't see later. Maybe before things were more officially coded?

Roots. Cannot remember the episode order... but it's one of the ones that has Mr. Brady from the Brady Bunch as a slave master. Which is uncomfortable... although I think that's the point, lol.

Debating whether or not to watch the finale or Roots or not.

As far as what I think of the original series, like other slavery media I feel like it doesn't respect the horrors of slavery enough. Although for what it is, it is a good series. A lot of rememberable scenes.

I like that this showed the different sides of the arguments for things like wearing the hijab and how much perspectives can vary depending on the country, age group, etc. It's one of the better documentaries I've seen.

I got through a little over one hour.

The impression I have of Muslim females from where I live is they feel protected

in a hijab.

You can test it, stand at a bus stop where two females are standing,

smile and give a nod, the Muslim will always return the smile.

I never usually see Muslim women so I can't test that. It sounds nice though. On vacation I saw some women wearing the hijab and they seemed happy. One was smiling a lot and another was laughing while playing air hockey.

We have a lot of Muslim Somalis in Minnesota. Thing is.. when the wind hits them right.. you can see all their curves. Lol.

Hijabs seem more like a tease than anything.

How could a snake heal those who were bitten?

It was moaning, groaning and complaining that caused them to be bitten.

By looking up at an image of a snake, they were looking up at the cause,

only by looking further up past the snake did they become healed.

It is like they had forgotten completely the wonders that were wrought to

free them from Pharaoh,

So is my belief.
