The idea that salvation is healing is essential. In Eph 6:17, the apostle Paul writes, "Take the helmet of salvation." And in 1Th 5:8, he writes, "and for a helmet [put on] the hope of salvation." The word for salvation here is “Soteria,” which means deliverance from the molestation of enemies. So, salvation means spiritual healing and power against the flesh and satan.Could you explain to me salvation in fullness. How do I know for sure without a shadow of a doubt I’m going to heaven. I had believed I was saved at twelve but I don’t know anymore. I attend a baptist church but I believe I’m non denominational . I don’t know???? I want to do right and live for Christ. I pray and pray but I don’t hear Gods voice anymore. I use to have this can’t help but shouting feeling but now it’s gone!!
I'm pretty sure the way James 5:16 was being used is it supposedly stipulates confessing your sins to a priest on a regular basis is one of the sacraments necessary to maintain salvation from hell. Unfortunately the person I was responding to opted to deflect with sarcastic mockery rather than offering any type of clarification. The idea that salvation is healing is essential. that says it all. And you expect a serious discussion when you assume what someone meant and put pretty sure. If you want to start over, please go ahead.I'm pretty sure
You seem more interested in putting people down than discussing.that says it all. And you expect a serious discussion when you assume what someone meant and put pretty sure. If you want to start over, please go ahead.

This helmet that protects our minds comes through the Holy Spirit. I knew that I was saved only when I received the indwelling of the Holy Spirit 30 years ago.
By proclaiming that Jesus is Lord and acknowledging the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, we accept God's power that accomplishes our salvation. Please check previous messages that were written about this. A few participants explained salvation very nicely in this thread. Going through their answers may be helpful.
If you feel uneasy in your Baptist church, remember that there are other options. Non-denominational churches vary, with some being Baptist and others Pentecostal. While most Baptists are cessationists, I find it hard to agree with this view fully. I recommend considering denominations like the Assemblies of God or Free Methodists, which offer different perspectives.
I want you to know that your thoughts and comments are always welcome.

would you then need to believe in #3, #7, and #8?Good day, The only condition ... is you are a sinner that is all we bring to the table.
Good day, would you then need to believe in #3, #7, and #8?
I see that everyone has yet to vote for #3. This surprises me, but perhaps I should have worded it differently. I agree that infant baptism counts but expect that some Christians may insist on adult baptism. The better question is what are things the Spirit teaches you so you know you've been picked for salvation. I answered 3 & then 5-10 are beliefs that stem from knowing God picked you. 4 is tricky. I think it should be that way, but think infant baptism "counts".
Once you are saved you are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. It's a process of acknowledging Jesus as your Saviour and repenting of your sins- you have to learn how to do it and follow the resources and suggestions already mentioned. You cannot just think you are saved. When you are saved and born again, you must have faith in Him and that comes with confidence that you build by reading God's word AND through prayer, every day- never ceasing, as Apostle Paul says. God will speak to you through His word when you have taken care of the sins in your life. The wage of sin is death (separation from God). You can pray all day long and He won't be listening until you take care of those sins!I had believed I was saved at twelve but I don’t know anymore. I am trying to get sin out of my life!!!! IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY!!!! Are you saying as long as I have sin in my life I can’t have a relationship with God???? I am truly trying so hard to get things right……..Once you are saved you are indwelled with the Holy Spirit. John 14:17 NASB20
[17] the Helper is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him; but you know Him because He remains with you and will be in you.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NKJV
Rejoice always, [17] pray without ceasing, [18] in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.
Hebrews 11:1-40
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. (Read the entire chapter about what faith is 1-40)
Romans 6:23 NKJV
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
You said God used to speak to you but no longer. I gave you the bible reference to explain what happens when you sin. If you want to have a relationship with God and He commands you not to sin, what do you expect from him when you knowingly sin? You are mocking Him. You have the choice not to sin. Nothing good is easy. God is nothing but good.I am truly trying so hard to get things right……..
Jesus said the man who admits he is a sinner and asks God for mercy is justified (Luke 18:9-14). One admits that they're a sinner. One holding onto sin is the problem. Not wanting to let it go. Loving sin more than God. When one wants to give up sin and get it out of their life, that's through the prompting of God. God is always seeking a relationship with us. The problem is on our end on whether or not we accept or reject God reaching out to us.I am trying to get sin out of my life!!!! IT HAS NOT BEEN EASY!!!! Are you saying as long as I have sin in my life I can’t have a relationship with God???? I am truly trying so hard to get things right……..
I will go read the the passage you referred to in Hebrews 11
- thanks
There's a difference between knowing you're a sinner and knowingly (willfully) indulging in sinning. Wilful sinners aren't trying to get sin out of their life (repenting). As Jesus said in Luke 18:9-14 it's the man who doesn't believe he's a sinner and thinks he's righteous (sinless) who's in trouble. You said God used to speak to you but no longer. Galatians 6:7-8 ESV
Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap. [8] For the one who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption, but the one who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life.
I really do not understand what you are saying, it does not make sense to me. If you are correcting me, please explain what you are saying. If you have a question about my comment, I will gladly try and answer. There's a difference between knowing you're a sinner and knowingly (willfully) indulging in sinning.
