Hunza recipe bread, but no one makes it any more. Someone did, and it was perfect food for most people, resulting in unexpected healthy changes welcome, what are the best source of protein for Vegetarians?
Beans and whole grains tend to have the most protein, and product made from them, such as tofu or tempeh.
How do you figure that growing food plants isn't going require the same destruction of forests and further natural environments? How do you figure that irrigating west Texas or central Africa for farming isn't going to require more resources than simply letting cattle graze on the natural grasses?I know God hates the destructiveness to God's creation here on this Earth. Animal agriculture is a huge cause of the loss of forests and further natural environments and takes much more resources, land and water, for supplying farm animals that consume nutrients and are slaughtered and then there are all those among us who get their nutrients. It would be so much more efficient and having less demand to have food being grown and all the nutrients we need had from that.
I eat these a lot. Whole grains especially from oatmeal and snacks I make from whole wheat flour and also beans. Add cocoa to the list of non-meat high protein sources I eat.
I still eat meat but much greater portions in non-meat foods. I do intense exercises and needed the protein and do get them mostly from plant-based foods and milk.

The average person actually gets most of their protein from plants already, even in wealthier nations that eat more meat.
The United States is an outlier among developed nations in the volume of meat consumed. Quite a bit more than even in Europe.
One ominous sign for the environment is that beef consumption is increasing in China and Japan. Crops like alfalfa are being grown and exported from the US to supply demand for cattle feed, despite the fact that alfalfa crops drain alot of water from the Colorado river. Saudi Arabia even owns alfalfa farms in the southern US.
My point is that food crops can't be grown in forests, so feeding the world with plants doesn't mean there will be more forests, either. However, grasslands for cattle don't even have to be irrigated in many places. In many countries around the world, grasslands did not come naturally.
They had to turn forests into grasslands by cutting down lots of trees.
Below is google map image of an area 40 km across somewhere under Hamilton city in New Zealand. The whole area you're seeing could have easily supported tree growth and forested area with long rainy seasons and generally mild climate in NZ.
But they've turned most of the area below into grasslands for sheep, goat, and cattle grazing (light green areas). Patches of dark green areas are trees / small patches of forested areas.
It would be better if a grassland is turned into a forest IF the climate supports it. To help mitigate flooding during extreme weather and forests are just better than grasslands from a climate perspective.

Can't really "wreck" the planet...the planet's going to be here. We'll just make it uncomfortable for us and a few other species. But those who fit the new situation will go on.It's the same problem with forests I know. Growing crops and livestock raising requires mowing down forests.
However, numerous studies demonstrate that livestock industry contributes to far more pollution and greenhouse gas than crop growing.
There's just way too many people that everything we do will wreck the planet one way or the other.
This is a wreck and the ship is still there, it's even above water and mostly intact, engines and all. But no longer useful to its human owners. Can't really "wreck" the planet...the planet's going to be here.
True. But you can at least do to your own community or your family or even your own body (if you have no family) the change you want the world to be.I'm of the camp that humanity cannot change the course of climate events at this point, and certainly there is no global political will to do so even if we can. So, realistically we'd better figure out how to "weather" the changes.
