I disagree. Gundam Wing does not really "portray" homosexual characters. Fans came up with that stuff on their own with very little evidence from the series.

Here's some official series artwork, none of which is fancreated, doujinshi, or otherwise made by fans. This is all the real deal. :) No evidence? I don't think so. Fans came up with it on their own? Maybe, but because they were served it on a platter. ^^

I now present official Gundam Wing shounen ai. ^^

Where did you get them from? How do you know they are "official"?

Even if they are "official," the pictures never appear in the actuall series at any point, so they aren't relevant.

The only points you can really make for a 1x2 are:

1. Duo occasionally says "I wonder what that guy's doing right now" or something like it.

2. Heero uses Duo's name when he first returns to the colonies.

3. Heero and Duo rescue each other.

But these can indicate friendship as well (which is what I think).

Also, Heero has Relena. Although some fanfics like to make Heero hate Relena's guts, the show suggests that he is in love with her, even if he can't express it. At the end of the TV series, Heero leaves a gift for Relena, not Duo.

And Duo has Hilde. Although the TV series does not say what happens to her after she arrives on the Peacemillion, she appears with Duo at the end of Endless Waltz.

There's a bit more evidence or 3x4, but it's still debatable.

Gundam Wing has no nudity, a little bit of blood here and there, and the occassional swearing. The only reason you would want to avoid Gundam Wing is the fact that the plot revolves around war (just like all the other Gundam series) and there are some brutal moments.

It's pretty obvious that they're official. I got them from a yaoi site, yes, nevertheless if you do the research, you WILL find that each of those is officially approved Gundam Wing art, and the first happened to be the original Japanese promotion poster for Endless Waltz.

I happen to like Gundam Wing. . .it's one of my favorite series. I do not like people denying what is so obviously there. 1x2x1 forever! :)

Edited to add: I'll show you the site they're from if you ask, in this thread.

Go ahead and show us the site. I dare you.
And, just as an aside, yaoi sites certainly are not official anime sites. There has never been an official yaoi website, fully accredited by anime producers, in existence. Odds are, there never will be. Every yaoi site made, unless it revolves around an anime that they created, are created by fans of anime and just those guys. What the fans do are not a true reflection of what happens in the anime itself.
You're just trying to give a bad image to the rest of anime by thinking that it's all based around homosexual suggestion.

Like Hybrid said, a yaoi site is NOT an 'official' site. And the pictures still are not in the series itself, which is what is being discussed. When discussing an anime, material outside the anime or manga (i.e. fan fiction, fan sites) is IRRELEVANT.

Show me PROOF from the series, not art. Good luck, because it isn't there.

Hey, I'm not trying to give anime a bad image, I am only trying to tell the truth as a fan myself. :)

This site Despite the unfortunate URL, there are NO graphic depictions or anything else graphic there (innocent pics and text expounding on the reasons why 1x2 and 3x4 can be inferred in the series, is all that it is), so feel free to look around and reply to this site as best you can.

It hosts several *official* 1x2x1 pics and posits the reasons WHY the series is depicting the growth of a relationship between Heero and Duo. ^^

I have an art of Gundam Wing book that has one of those pics and others that are not dissimilar. I have said this before (in another thread), but I can see how some might get the impression that some of the characters have homosexual relationships.

There are some pics that leave some questions in my head (for GW), but were talking about what impression different people are getting from them, nothing definitive. I can't think of an anime off the top of my head where any of the characters say "No, I am not homosexual."

I personally don't believe that any of the GW characters are gay, but since none of the characters say "I'm not gay" in the sreies anywhere, I wouldn't go betting everything I own either way.

I suppose the short answer is: If you believe they are, why should I care? If you believe they are not, why should I care?

If you are into manga, I can suggest Yotsuba&!. The main character is a little girl and it focuses on her adventures. Really funny, very sweet. The creator is Kiyohiko Azuma, creator of Azumanga Daioh, and it's rating is 'For All Ages'. You won't find any swearing, any violence, and no sexual themes, either. :)

Well, Christians can watch any kind of anime they want :)

But I know what you mean... I think you would enjoy watching "Spirited Away". I've also heard that other movies by Hayao Miyazaki are very good. :)

you don't have to change your'e way of life to be a christian. you can still read and watch all the bad and gory manga and anime you want. as long as it does not affext who you are or truly want to be. remember that........

you are what you eat. why fill your mind with bad stuff when there are so many other better things to devote your time to?

i think it is wise to be discriminating of things that you surround yourself with.

besides, he is limiting himself not coz he has to...its coz he wants to.
he doesnt enjoy things that he believes will not be pleasing to God.

life is too short to waste on bad anime :)

My personal advice for clean anime to watch would be some of the full-length movies by Hayao Miyazaki, particularly the ones geared toward younger audiences. Princess Mononoke would be one movie by him that's a definite no-no for sensitive types--it's super gory and somewhat disturbing. My best recommendation concerning a mild anime by him would be My Neighbor Totoro and perhaps Howl's Moving Castle, but though there is little or no violence, there is some allusion to magic and spirits, so if that offends, then disregard my advice. :)
