Was wondering if I could ask you all what is your favorite place to go camping here in WV. Our family frequent Kumbrabrow State Forest. Its a small, friendly place. Cheap too!

Our church goes to Cedar Creek (near Spencer) every year. My family like to go to the state park near Huntington. I forget the name of it but it has "fork" in the name.

That state park near Huntington is Beech Fork (Lake) State Park located in Wayne County...I've been there before.

Yes, Beech Fork. I always get it's name confused with Forked Run which is just across the state line in Ohio.

Oh yes, I forgot about that place...Cedar Creek (and its near Glenville ). I'll have to suggest that place for our church sunday school. They are looking for ideas for us to get together this summer. Thanks for the reminder

When we go camping, we do alot of walking and exploring. The kids take there bikes also and they ride while hubby and I relax. Its weird to with me. I am not a big fan of cooking breakfast at my house.....but you put me in a camp ground and I just love putting together a nice big breakfast: homefries, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage....hmmm, making my mouth water now .

newbeliever, Cedar Creek has proven to be a very convenient place for our church to camp because they have an area that is not divided into individual sites. We just reserve the entire section and we don't have to reserve individual sites. So we don't have to worry about making a reservation and then not being able to go.

Is anyone from west virginia? I used 2 live in the bluefield/princeton area.

I live in Crab Orchard, which is right outside of Beckly. I love West Virginia!!!

I happen to be a West Virginian myself and I'm from the Logan area (SW W.Va.). I still live in this state. Just to let you all know that Michael W. Smith is from WV and he lived in Kenova (west of Huntington). Any other WV'ns here, please post. Thanks & God bless you all!

Speaking of Michael W. Smith...... My Christian Education and Evangleism Pastor's wife grew up in the Kenova Church of God. Their choir would go to Kenova First Baptist Church's choir practices to learn from MW's infinite mind of music and then go sing at
K COG. I've always thought that was hilarious.
I can't stand MWS. Uhhhgggg. My family refers to any song that we don't like (no matter what the genre) as "M W's". Healing Rain is the only song of his that I like.

You go to Christ Temple Church?!?!?! That's is awesome. I go to Glen White Church of God. Our sister church is Church of God Family Worhsip Center. I am sure that you have heard of that. All of the "Big Times" usually go to our churches back to back. LoL.
Have you heard of Logan (it might even be West Logan) Church of God. I have so may friends that go there and the numerous different COG's in the area (Chapmansville, Davis Creek, etc.).

Yes. I was a camper at the Teen camp and I worked on Reck Staff at the Junior High and Junior Camps. It was glorious.
