Ultimately, spiritual discernment is what you need.

I agree that many dreams are as you say, driven by the garbage in our subconscious.

But dreams from the Lord usually reveal something of significance. The dreams might be straight forward, or like the parables of Jesus, requiring interpretation. I have received both, many times over.

One time I had a serious engineering problem in my business which could have cost me a great deal of money. Experts had been consulted but neither they, nor my staff could work out what was happening. The additional problem was that we were facing a deadline to complete the project.

But I had been praying and was confident that God would reveal the solution.

Then in the middle of all the rushing around I had a vivid dream. In it I saw my large yellow spirit level resting on top a particular section of the pipework. I woke with a start, leapt out of bed, got dressed and raced across town to the site.
As soon as I placed my spirit level on those pipes, I could see they were misaligned causing an airlock. Despite lots of people going through the system bit by bit, nobody had seen it, but God did, and He then showed me.

Needless to say, it was fixed that morning and everything worked perfectly, and the customer was happy.
Why would God find it important to ensure your customer’s happiness? Lots of good people pray for their loved ones who have cancer, and still they die. Why would your customer’s happiness be so important to God?

It was my need that God answered. Had God not done so, my customer would have vented his wrath against me.

From everything you have posted, you dwell in a state of unbelief. Whether in you or I, unbelief in our hearts always blocks the things of God.

Why is your need more important to God than so many other’s needs?
You need to understand how God operates in this world, as obviously He could heal every sick person on the planet at a click of his fingers, but he doesn't, does he?
But read what Jesus says about that.-

Luke4v23And He said to them, “Surely you will say to Me this proverb, ‘Physician heal yourself! Whatsoever we have heard has been done in Capernaum, do here in Your hometown also.’”
As in many Christian circles, the religious community of Jesus's home town were riddled with unbelief. They certainly acted the part, synagogue every Shabbat, quoting all the right scriptures, but spiritually dead, and worse still utterly opposed to any expression of spiritual truth. So much so that immediately after this interchange, they tried to kill Jesus!
But Jesus was never going to dance to their tune, just because they clicked their fingers!

24And He said, “Truly I say to you that no prophet is acceptable in his hometown. 25And in truth I say to you, there were many widows in Israel in the days of Elijah, when the heaven was shut up for three years and six months, when there was a great famine upon all the land; 26and Elijah was sent to none of them, except to Zarephath of Sidon, to a woman, a widow. 27And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Elisha the prophet, and none of them was cleansed, except Naaman the Syrian.”

One of the primary reasons for God not doing things is plain straight forward unbelief, and everything you post emanates that same unbelief.
I testified that God directly answered my specific business related prayer, and all you can muster is yet more negativity and unbelief.
Why is like that, what is your motive for coming onto the "Sign gifts" section if you reject such things.

As I said before, my life has been led for decades by dreams, visions and prophetic words.
Here's another example.
In my manufacturing business, I had two very important specialist machines, unfortunately they were constantly breaking down. Each time it was a tedious dismantling job to fix their innards. Unfortunately they were old machines, and no longer available, the nearest poor equivalents costing at least £15000 each to replace, money I didn't have.

One Friday, they both broke down at the same time, completely halting our factory production.
As my maintenance engineer was on holiday, it fell to me to try and fix them. As I crossed the factory floor to the machines, I distinctly heard God speak, "I didn't call you to fix these machines!"
As He said those words, the peace of God descended on me. I instantly knew that somehow, God had a solution up his sleeve.

My workshop manager was not at all happy when I told him I wasn't going to fix the machines. He had production targets to meet that were now impossible.

The following afternoon, I had need to return to the factory to collect a tool for home use. The place was closed and silent, but as I crossed the factory floor looking for this tool, I suddenly had an open vision in front of my eyes of a peculiar shaped lump of steel. As I saw this item, I instantly understood its purpose.

God was revealing to me a method of repairing these broken machines. It was an amazing revelation because the new component I had been shown, enabled the constantly breaking internal components to be completely bypassed and rendered redundant.

Instead of returning to do that job at home, I spent the next couple of house making the new component. I didn't even have to dismantle the machine or touch the broken innards, as the new part was attached externally.

When I switched the machine on, it worked perfectly, and far better than it had ever done before. It was actually an improvement on the original design.

When my staff came in on Monday, they were delighted, given the constant hassle they had previously had, and my engineer quickly copied the repair onto the second machine.

From that time onwards, the machines never broke down again as they had done before.

It really pays to believe that God speaks today to those who listen!
