  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I'm feeling really weird at the moment.

I have put on about 2 pounds in the last 8 weeks which isn't enough to change how my clothes feel. However all my clothes are feeling tight and uncomfortable.
I was under the impression that you didn't start putting on weight straight away. The weird thing is having tight clothes and not having put on weight.
Judging by things so far i am going to be huge at the end of this pregnancy.

At what point do anyone else start noticing a change in shape?
And is it normal to be getting bigger but not heavier?

At least it's not just me.

The only problem now is that the skirt i was going to wear for Christmas is goign to be too tight.

I've got some clothes on order so hopefully i'll be able to wear a pair of the trousers i've ordered instead

Often during early pregnancy your abdomen will distend. It is just your changing shape - I really would try not to worry too much about the weight you are gaining- and just try to eat the best quality foods you can. I have found that your body is going to gain the weight it needs- and there is often very little you can do (healthfully) to stop that weight gain.

I'm one of those people that was the same weight at the end of pregnancy as at the beginning. Basically, I lost weight at the beginning and gained it back towards the end.

Our midwives here in the UK don't weigh pregnant women. It was really weird when I had a baby in the US and they were so obsessed with weight.

I've gained about 15 lbs so far... the first couple of months I still was able to wear some of my older "fat" clothes... I had lost weight the past year and a half or so... went from a 16 to a 12, sometimes 10... so I still had some of my 16 that fit for a bit.

I realized the other day that I am about the size I was the december I was pregnate with Robert, and I am two months further along now than I was with him... so I guess I am doing pretty good right now. of course I had three times too much fluid with him. he was two months early. kind of scared to have one to term... afrad of how big he is going to be.

I lost weight the entire first trimester and for well over half of the second, I didn't gain until the end of trimester two. BUT I was in maternity clothes @ 9 weeks because all my weight was shifting. It is totally normal. It doesn't mean you will be huge and it certainly doesn't mean you are gaining too quickly. Your body is changing and it isn't going to stop anytime soon!!! It is so exciting! My pants were tight and completely uncomfortable @ 9 weeks and now, @ 36 weeks, I have still only gained 5.5 lbs...but my BELLY IS HUGE...and my BUTT IS HUGE...and my LEGS FEEL HUGE...and my BOOBS ARE HUGE!!!! LOL, welcome to pregnancy....no matter what the scale reads, certain parts of your body find a way to be HUGE! But it is going to be SO WORTH it to hold your little blessing!

That's great to hear. I hear so many people say that they didn't need maternity clothes until they were 6 months pregnant and i'm going to be in them at around 9 to 10 weeks lol

Thank you all! At least i know i'm normal lol

Do they really not weigh us over here? I really thought that they would do - i'll have to weigh myself then to find out my start and end weight
