CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've had it in my mind to write an original called, "Beautiful Distraction" based on 1 Corinthians 7:33. But I'd have to go with a Siouxsie and the Banshees and Prince song for now. In reality we'd prolly never dance to these on our wedding day but it's alright.

I like this song that the Orthodox Christians in your country sing at their weddings, even though I don't know the language. It just sounds nice, and I found a translation a little while ago that shows that it talks about the Church being trusted to the apostles, like how the couple are now trusted to each other, which I really like. I'm not sure if that's accurate or not (it's in Malayalam), but it's an edifying image. I would like a relationship like that!

In my opinion, the lyrics of many love songs, although written with human romantic love in mind, the lyrics could equally well apply to God's love for us.
