What time of year did you get married? We got married in Sept. 2007, so I guess technically it was summer....I like to say fall though

Would you change anything? We got engaged on a Saturday, I would have gone Monday to get our license and gotten married on Wednesday in my parents LR by the same pastor who married us. Barring that, I wouldn't have done a lot of things the same. We had a big wedding because it's what my husband wanted and it mattered more to him to have it than for me not to. Hubby has since told me that he wouldn't do it the same either now that he knows how miserable I was by the whole process...I cried myself to sleep almost every night, fought it the whole way through, and generally argued about every big decision....the most notorious argument was over limo's. I wanted to drive myself and he wanted to be driven. We rented a trolley, which actually worked out well, though I was prepared to drive myself if the trolley wasn't there the second I was ready to leave for the church...the driver laughed when I told her that. She was waiting for ME for 20 minutes and I wasn't running late. Our wedding was scheduled for 1:00 and my girls started down the aisle at about 1:01. I might be the only bride in history that wasn't late....

Redguard, don't worry about. You would be surprised how many people from the US ask me if North Dakota is in Canada. (Second question asked when people find out that's where I was raised. First question is "Isn't it always cold there?") So be proud your a Canuck! (I've got quite a few friends from up there, and actually have family up there that I have never met before. So I have nothing against Canada.)

I wasn't trying to say that your stupid. Was just pointing out the fact that people from the US don't always know if someone is from the US or not. I actually find it very amusing. Because then I'll start speaking Canadian (Eh?) And it drives them nuts! (No offense to any Canadians here. It really is an awesome country. Been there quite a few times myself...)

Would you change anything? It sounds petty, but my dress wasn't perfect. There were a lot of traditionally important things that I didn't care about (we didn't have a big fancy cake), but sewing and fashion design is something I have an active interest in, so the dress really mattered. And it wasn't perfect. *sigh*

Also, there is one person I wish I would have left off the guest list. She made a scene and was very self-absorbed. The wedding would have been nicer for everyone without her. She has never apologized, and I think she possibly doesn't even realize what a big pain in the rear she was.

But otherwise it was great. As one of our groomsmen said: "So long as at the end of the day you are actually married, it will have been a smashing success!"

Nothing, we don't have engagement rings. I totally don't get the "only the woman gets an engagement ring" thing, by the way. If we had done engagement rings, my husband would definitely have had one, too.

From our unofficial engagement to our wedding day was a year minus a week. From our official engagement (= when we booked the church and told our family and friends) to our wedding day was about 6 months.

Not much. We would make a couple of minor changes on the guest list (I would have included some and excluded some others), but that has more to do with us no longer being friends with some of the guests - had nothing to do with our wedding, as it was a perfect day. At that point we could not know that these friendships would end, as we can't look into the future.

The engagement diamond was a gift to me from my grandmother, but I spent about $200 for a new setting. My wife and I dated almost 4 years before we became engaged. We married six months later.
