I would absolutly love a formal debate forum in Creation/evolution. The trouble would be getting people to participate. I know how it could happen but not without serious thought to things like who would moderate it and how.

You're on staff. Just make it happen. Get us a formal debate sub-forum in C&E. Don't worry about who will participate and who won't.

ETA - I'm not stupid. I know this was an indirect jab at me, based on a conversation in another thread just a few minutes ago. You're on staff. Remember? Be an example of how CF expects all of us to behave around here.

I can't suggest this to the leading staff unless I have something to support it. Look, honestly, I really like the idea but there would have to be some rules. Right or wrong?

Actually, it was a challenge, I was hopeing to get your attention. I get a little sarcastic sometimes but I don't really mean anything by it. I like these debates and would really like to debate the issues formally. I can tell you this, if you are serious about this idea I can suggest it to the proper people. I think there would have to be two criteria for moderating this hypothetical forum. Civility and accountablity.

I'll tell you what, post an inivte to the formal debate forum. You can organize a panel of judges who can act as unofficial moderators. As participants we would have to comply with any revisions they insist upon. It would be any subject you like with anybody you want on the panel.

Are you serious about having a formal debate forum for the Creation/Evolution discussion or not? If you are then I would need something to show what this proposed new forum will look like.

I'll lay off the satire, what do you say?

Read this thread, in it's entirety. When you do, you will see several members who like this idea, not just me. So, instead of making this a personal issue, (which seems to be an ongoing problem), know that many members support this. I'm sure if I started a new poll thread, you would see many more who support the idea.

Ok, I hope it works out for you and I think it's a great idea. By the way, I have been watching the thread and I am aware of the popular support for the formal debate forum.

I would love to participate in the forum some time if you get it started.
