Since you associate Christ's name with some weird kind of dualistic heresy, I fear you are more likely to drive people away.

Isn't it kind of disingenious to speak out and call something heresy but then show no wrongs, show no right...what am I to think of your post? Can you back up your post or simply say you disagree. But you can't call it heresy without being specific. What part of what I presented is heresy to you?

If you can't articulate that then prolly shouldnt say those things.

Rocket *surgeon*, please.

My mistake. Mere Rocket surgeon I meant!

The spell is broken, I ain't goin' back.

That's your choice. But if that is the case, why would you come to a Christian board? Maybe you have no choice but to hang out on a Christian board? Some irresistable inner unction to be here and read? That's ok but you shouldn't be a punk to the Christians. I don't care how smart you think you are. You should stop posting to this thread or else I will post a bunch of Biblical Scriptures to you.

This is, after all, a Christian Board so, yes. Sometimes scripture will find it's way into the (forbidden) forum, Lol! That's one thing you miss, You may want me to shut up, but the Christian Moderators will not silence me. The truth needs to be spoken.

Doesn't mean I can't be wrong. But you sure havent showed me that I'm wrong. So to embrace regression and start having tantrums is sort of lacking in class don't you think?

There are some significant theological ideas that need serious unpacking. But this is the science board. The more this theological discussion continues, the further away it is going to get from both the thread topic itself you created; but it is certainly going to be entirely outside any scope of the discussion of science.

We aren't talking science right now. We are talking theology. We are, in fact, getting into some major theological and biblical conversation that should be discussed elsewhere, so that it can be more appropriately explored without wasting space here. It also means more visibility for those who want to participate in this particular discussion.

I'd be more than happy to be the one who creates a thread somewhere else about these subjects if you don't want to do it. If so, is there a specific point of theology here that you'd like me to begin with? As I said, there's a lot that can be unpacked and discussed.

Shall we not go where the conversation has taken us? Shall we turn around? I think it is ok for our conversation that it drifted this way. But it was the priginal post that pointed us in this diection. So I think we should continue here. I know the OP (he is a friend of mine) and he says ok for this thread since it is so interesting.

I don't think you realize that I agree with some of what you say. You are in a good position in Christ from how you sound. but demand meat for all where many only need milk.

There's good ways and bad ways to make associations and it seems to me that...I bet all of the real truth about our experience here on earth will be flabbergasting when we (finally) reach that point.

But no Brother. Let's just keep this thread where it is.

Because you say so ......... we will wait for your presentation to refute the above by Chuck Missler.
Don't have to refute ridiculous ideas. You can try to prove they aren't ridiculous though. Good luck!

We live in the Matrix.
You're free to believe that if you like. It's rubbish, of course, but if you want to believe it, then in the words of the Prophet Mohammed, "Gourd head on".

Well, a virtual scientist takes a virtual electron microscope and looks at a virtual rock very closely to see what it is made of.
What does he see, I wonder?

I feel like he would see more uniformity, and not the variety of amino acids and molecules we do. I don't think you would need a periodic table of 100+ elements in a virtual world, or exact simulations of such all programmed to behave certain ways. It would be kind of a drag on the system.

Just my random thought.

i did. It was ridiculous.

Are you sure it just wasnt over your head? I could explain it to you but you would snicker at it too so I wont waste my time with you beyond one question. Name all the states of matter that you can think of? Can you name any of them?

Yep. It was rubbish.

I'm sure that you could.
but you would snicker at it too
There's about a 90% certainty of that.
so I wont waste my time with you
Good!
beyond one question. Name all the states of matter that you can think of? Can you name any of them?
Oh, I can do better than that:
.
I know our mythic history, King Arthur's and Sir Caradoc's;
I answer hard acrostics, I've a pretty taste for paradox,
I quote in elegiacs all the crimes of Heliogabalus,
In conics I can floor peculiarities parabolous;
I can tell undoubted Raphaels from Gerard Dows and Zoffanies,
I know the croaking chorus from The Frogs of Aristophanes!
Then I can hum a fugue of which I've heard the music's din afore,
And whistle all the airs from that infernal nonsense Pinafore.

And do you want 4 states or 5? <Laugh>

Wow man, I bet you don't even like science fiction movies!

What if I told you that The Mariix is not science fiction?

It's a documentary.
Wasn't the movie Matrix derived from quantum physics in 1949?

I can't think of how quantum physics is influential in the plot of the Matrix trilogy.

It seems rather blatant that the Matrix draws upon several religious and philosophical traditions, the Gnostic influence is very obvious--and it's been discussed by many people many times over the last couple decades.

Anyone with a working familiarity with ancient Gnostic ideas and writings can easily demonstrate obvious parallels.
