Observers of the case noted that Smith’s legal approach leans more on stirring emotions than providing neutral evidence. They highlighted his frequent use of strong adjectives like “fraud/fraudulent” and “false/falsely” in his arguments. Some predict a substantial part of the government’s case against Trump could be dismissed.

Smith is a prosecutor who is prosecuting a case against a client he believes to be guilty. What part of that suggests that he is supposed to be 'neutral'? Was it wrong for, e.g., prosecutors in the OJ Simpson trial, or the Ted Bundy trial, or any number of famous cases to try to make the point that they thought the defendants were guilty?

Also, I love how Trump's "huge update" is presented at the source as though he is not also pushing a narrative. Why isn't Trump being presented as "stirring emotions" by his use of "strong adjectival phrases" like "big, fat lie"? Could it be because he's trying to present himself to his supporters and anyone else who will listen as being an innocent man who is being unfairly prosecuted? You know, exactly what we would expect him to be doing, because he's the defendant in the case?

Your source is nothing but typical right-wing Trumpist garbage, trying to slyly complain about bias everywhere while engaging in massive, obvious (you could even say "big" and "fat") bias of its own. Boo-hoo, our political demi-God shouldn't have to go to trial like this and be exposed to words like "fraud", even though his organizations were convicted on fraud charges earlier this year! Where do these evil prosecutors get the idea that he himself could be guilty of something like that?

The prosecutor is using strong adjectives like fraud and false? Just...what?

Desperate times indeed for Trump supporters.

What has Smith to do with the NYC case?
I thought the same.
The New York case is a civil fraud case and the prosecuter is Letitia James.

Jack Smith is prosecuting the classified document case in Florida and the Election case (Jan. 6th) in D,C.

Fani Willis is prosecuting the Georgia election interference case in Georgia.

It is easy toso get confused as there are 91 charges between them all.

As Trumps popularity continues to grow and grow.

Unless this is the case with regard to his popularity specifically with the juries in the various cases in which he is charged, this does not matter at all, just like how his success at getting however many millions of his followers to believe that the 2020 election was somehow stolen has no bearing on the fact that he has been charged (along with some of them) for the steps he allegedly took to remedy said "steal". Actual U.S. courts do not convene on Trump's social media website like his sycophants do.

The goal is to get convictions before the election, with not enough time before the election to get convictions thrown out on appeal. And tying Trump up in courts gives him less time to campaign. I think that juries in New York City and Washington D.C. have enough hatred to convict him, the charges really don't matter.

Actually, his popularity equates to votes which is why he will be POTUS again this election.
Americans see the attacks against Trump as political, banana republic like attempts to keep him from winning the Presidency again.

I do not know if you are correct that he will be elected, or even the nominee. Possibly.

You are totally correct that a large number of Americans see these unrelenting attacks on one Presidential candidate as political and intended to derail him though.

Even getting into prison didn't stop Hitler from gaining control over germany
If there is equal justice the Squad would be charged, because they led a pro-Palestinian mob that violently interfered in the process of Congress, interrupting the choosing of a Speaker which Democrats maintain is critical to the operation of our government. A better case can be made that the Squad led an insurrection rather than Trump, who offered National Guard troops and asked people to march peacefully and patriotically, led a protest on January 6th.

That is true. There is silence about the squad and that illegal gathering Tlaib stirred up. If Trump or someone who supported him did that, they and everyone they know would be hunted down for two years, whatever it took, to charge them all.

If you can charge Trump with that baloney you could charge any American with something.
Reinforcing the idea that nobody in America is above the law.

You are leaving out the most important stuff... like the evidence and first-hand testimony against him from his former lawyers and workers.

What percentage of Americans? Because Americans also see these indictments as the justice system at work.

This isn't a thread about GOP House members' unending failed investigations into President Biden.
