Imagine the irony of saying this
It is plain to see, (wondering whether or not to add 'for those with eyes to see' as that depends completely on God revealing what is seen) ....

yet hidden or other agendas are very very common on the internet/ forums/ corporations/ governments/ religions ....
and may remain hidden minutes, hours, days, years, decades,
until Jesus makes known what the intents and motives are in truth, as He Knows.

Jesus promoted fasting because it was beneficial to a person's spiritual life and walk with the Father.
Honestly, Jesus might say Himself He did not / does not* "promote" fasting ....
Instead, He instructs every disciple to "DO as the FATHER SAYS to DO" ...

*Other than being the best example, the best teacher, the best shepherd, for His Own sheep to listen to and to follow.

btw, fasting is perhaps still the only diet means of prolonging life at all, as ascertained decades ago somewhere, somehow, by someone. :) that's all I know and I'm sticking to it.... :)

Pushing this a little for the shortness of time, though likely there will be no answer:
Wherever does the idea of wheat in Jesus time get said to be unhealthy ?

  • Imagine the irony of saying this
Jesus promoted fasting to counter the negative side effects of consuming wheat

And then saying this:

Fasting is very healthy for your body. I think Jesus knew that also

Wheat was and has always been very high in Net Carbs. All net carbs turn into SUGAR. Sugar is not essential. Sugar is the number one cause of diabetes and obesity. Bread/wheat is a starvation food. Jesus condemned obesity. That's why he promoted fasting

Some of this , but not all, is true. It was not always true. That's not why He promoted fasting, no. Who told you this (it sounds like a sales pitch) ?

Wheat was a very healthy food as the Creator Created it.
Man made it unhealthy , especially during or since wwI - wwII. THis was published officially in the usa by licensed doctors who proved it, and it was proven many many times since then, but overall ignored (because of bigfarma and the other money making industries) ...

Sugar is the number one cause of diabetes and obesity.
Corporations for money, everywhere, are not ethical like true Christians are or like they can be and might be expected to be.
Refined sugar, not naturally occurring sugar that is healthy and needed for metabolism and energy ....
whether it is number one or just in the top five I don't know and it does not matter... milk(refined, pasteurized and homozeniged) is in the top five also, and is very unhealthy. So is refined flour even if it is made from 'healthy' plants .. the refining process corrupts the food supply...
Also, drugs/medicines (legal ones) foisted on the americans and the world might be the source of diab and obes more than any food, even if someone eats healthy.

Wheat was... ...
Internet find: (sometimes, not always, not frequently truth)

"Is wheat good for diabetes?

"The low glycemic index of whole flour wheat

makes it ideal for people with diabetes
.

The high complex carbohydrates present in whole wheat flour take time to digest thereby reducing the glycemic load.Feb 8, 2023"

After several/ many searches, I can find no one who agrees with you, so again,
where
did you get these ideas from ? < mainly that wheat was always 'bad', when it was not>

Fasting in scripture is almost always a way for people to mourn and seek God's face on behalf of some situation they face. The only time in scripture fasting is associated with health benefits is in Daniel, and even then it had more to do with Daniel following the dietary requirements of the Law (which doesn't prohibit wheat consumption) than it had to do with healthiness.

Do you know that that does not matter at all ?
I wasn't asking about that regardless of fact or fallacy , no -
Who told you, or WHY do you apparently think
that
wheat (as God the Creator Himself Provided for men to eat)
used to be bad for health
, which is blatantly a false idea. ?
Yes, very much so, it is bad for health today in most of the usa.
No, not at all, was it bad or unhealthy back hundred or more years let alone 2000 years
when it was HEALTHY.
Originally all God Created was good, and wheat was good for food and healthy.
Man came up with many devices, and made it bad for health (seemingly good for $$$greedy producers) .....
