I was thin as a rail and did a 30 day fast with no problem.
You would be amazed what the body can do without issue.
We don't want to try the hard thing so we are limited to the small results.

no prolonged fasting is not a sin, otherwise Jesus sinned and we know He did not.

Jesus promoted fasting because it is a wonderful thing we can do to draw near to the Father.

Yes, fasting purifies the body and food is more toxic now than it was. I used to fast and I just had pure energy. Now I seem to have a lot of toxins I have to work out of my system. If you are very active you can lose up to 10 pounds a week. If you are not active you lose two or three pounds a week. So let's pick five pounds for a 40 day fast that would be 6 weeks times five pounds. That adds up to 30 pounds.

As a carpenter Jesus would have quite a bit of muscle. If you run out of fat you burn off your muscle.

There are many, many studies that show that fasting is healthy and beneficial and can be undertaken safely for months.

40 days, compared to many people who fast regularly over extended periods of time, is not a big deal at all.

Fasting is easier for people who are not addicted to sugar and carbs. I suspect that those in the time of Jesus did not have the addiction problems society has with food today due to chemicals put in our food etc.

When a student runs around a track fifty times because his coach/instructor tells him to,
does the student need another reason ?
When the Father Instructs someone to do something specifically,
if they are faithful and good son, they just do it, trusting obediently.

Wherever you got the wrong connection as if wheat (before 'modern' times since it has been corrupted) was unhealthy
and also wrong
as if fasting was to avoid wheat

There is innumerable 'proof' for a few people.
