Is this guy/gal any good whatsoever? My mother seems to like him. I worry about her a lot, though.

from what I can see, he does not seem as bad as the Hagees or Osteens of the world, but I would still be cautious.

Cautious / testing anyone, yes. (I'd think).
Like the frying pan being slowly heated up, the frog in the frying pan just sits there not realizing it is being cooked cautious !

Any Bible Study would be better than none, as at least the scriptures are being read.
That having been said, I attended a Baptist home Bible study back in my college days where a man and his wife were using Wiersbe. That was 30 years ago, when I could have stomached it. If you are of Baptist leanings, John MacArthur's work is much better.

Test everything though, - looked him up a year or two ago, and last month - there's different opinions/ expose's on that guy.
