• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

 do you tell yourself that you are beautiful?remember that God sees past your faults.... He sent Jesus to save us. while we were still sinning; God was sending us the perfect gift of salvation. He calls you His child... a child pure, and spotless, loved, and has a place in His kingdom; inheriting eternity with Him and the splendor of all He is.

messing up doesn't change how God sees you... and it doesn't mean you aren't in recovery anymore either. continue to practice your coping and releasing skills to stay on track as best you can... practice staying motivated in the right direction. if you don't have a list of things to do to practice; then get one made.   pratice... practice... practice :) !! :groupray:

had a very triggering week and finally decided to do something SI but at the same time just gave into the tears; breaking down in tears went instead, grabbed her list and bible and "first-aid" box ... and prayed and scribbled out anger on her journal, then napped... woke up and went back to list; to realize she DID NOT SI!! and she finally got all blubbery  and cried hard.  .... she said crying and feeling out of control made her feel God scoop her up and for the first time, she felt His presence. and for the first time she realized that GRACE and MERCY was hers... she didn't have to work for it, and couldn't reach perfection: it was all given as a GIFT on the cross. GOD made her whole.       SOOOOOOOOO AWESOME!!

first aid box: (instead of having items you use to SI) get a box, decorate it, and fill it with your distracting-things list, favorite things, photos, bible/or bible verses, stuffed animals, bubble stuff, etc. keep this where you go to SI. some people even take them places with them in a back-pack or purse.
