Shouldn't we be praying instead of bombing people?

We did remember to pray last night for the innocent ones that were killed by that MOAB (big bomb).
I guess that the guilty ones got what they deserved?
It would be hard to be in Trump's position.
Thank God -- that He appoints those ones.

? hmm... also then
like the woman caught in adutlery got what she deserved?
"the guilty ones" ? ... may be pretty high up considering what God says -
all the leaders of the nations have been made to commit fornication with the [evil; got in bed with]...

I'm not bombing anyone.

If you support with word or vote the actions of your government then every bomb that is dropped and every person killed has your approval; your name is on that bomb or bullet.
Forgive me if if i'm in the wrong forum with this. If i am please let me know and i'll have staff move it. Thank you.

This thread addresses the morality of war. How can we support war? Shouldn't we be praying instead of bombing people?

A Christian can not support war in any way; you cannot load the magazines, build the bombs, ships or silos, you cannot serve as a law enforcement officer or a politician who swears to uphold all the actions of government. You cannot serve two masters. And, this is the part that really upsets carnal Christians, you cannot defend yourself or do harm to any human being.

It truly breaks my heart to know there are people who feel this way.

Add...please, please try to keep this opinion to yourself around soldiers, Marines, sailors and police officers. Many feel they make the sacrifice to serve others and many I know consider themselves Christians. It would hurt them.

I know that I am guilty of supporting war but I really do not want to support it. My father who is messianic would say I was stupid if I said anything bad about President Trump and the wars with countries that are our enemies.

Clarke's Commentary on Psalms 120:7
I am for peace - We love to be quiet and peaceable; but they are continually engaged in excursions of rapine and plunder. It is evident that the psalmist refers to a people like the Scenitae or wandering Arabs, who live constantly in tents, and subsist by robbery; plundering and carrying away all that they can seize. The poor captives wished them to cultivate the arts of peace, and live quietly; but they would hear of nothing but their old manner of life.

the wars with countries that are our enemies.
Yes, the whole world is at war today (all but 10, 11, or 12 countries).

But, we are dead to the world, and the world is dead to us.
Let the dead bury the dead.
Do what the Father says.

"at war"- our battle is not with flesh and blood, no.
Our battle, our greatest enemy, may be our family.
And our own country.
As God's WORD says again and again and again.

Well, it works like this sometimes in this fallen world war is the only way to restore peace. It is NOT pretty. yes, there will be much damage and death and yes civilians WILL die in war they always have and they always will just the way of things. War is NOT nice and it should NOT be a first resort by ANY means, but there ARE times in this fallen world that it IS the only way. Think, for example, of what would have happened if there was never World War II.

Think, for example, of what would have happened if there was never World War II.
And likewise all the other wars.
Peace!
The enemy does not seek peace.
So the enemy stirs up all the nations to war.
And it will be so until Y'SHUA MESSIAH KING
returns for HIS people.

What about prayer though? Is our prayer so ineffective that we must bomb our enemies? Why can we boast about God fixing our finances, and healing our bodies, but we lack faith that He will protect us as well? What kind of faith is this?
We can do both, but sometimes prayer alone is not enough. Just like when people get sick we can pray for healing, but that does not mean that we cannot or should not seek medical treatment.

Obviously, the Body of Christ cannot entertain war.
Sometimes it IS the only way. Ever heard people say I will not start a fight, but I will finish it? For example, I know several people and if my motor skills and eyesight would allow it I would too have a CCW. ( concealed carry weapons permit.) I can tell you two things about me and those people NONE of us would fire the first shot BUT none of us would be afraid to use lethal force either, if threatened and yes they are Christians.

We can do both, but sometimes prayer alone is not enough.
For example from the NEW TESTAMENT,
in all the letters of all the assemblies without exeption,
did
the believers pray for peace, or for war ?
(all of the believers then)

Because Saint Paul was not speaking about actual warfare which the context makes clear. Continue reading verse 5 and 6.

When Saint Paul was writing his letters, Christians were not in power and had no control over any government. In 300 years, this would change but what Saint Paul said about governments would still apply.

for he (Ruler/Government) is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for he does not bear the sword in vain. For he is the servant of God, an avenger who carries out God’s wrath on the wrongdoer. (Romans 13:4)

A ruler or government, waging war in accordance with the law of God to prevent greater evil from transpiring, does so as the servant of God. This is why the 6th commandment is not violated in the administration of justice or in warfare. We should try to avoid warfare if possible but if all other options have been exhausted and the qualifications for a just war have been met, then it should be waged with the goal of bringing peace as quickly as possible.
I wasn't quoting Romans 13. You are confused.

We don't know how many wars were prevented or stopped by prayer. In my home meeting we often pray for all armed conflicts in the world, naming them. Even less publicized ones. For poor people who're suffering.
Maybe not, but I can promise you I would HATE to live in a world where world war II did not happen for example. There are times when war is needed and justified. Am I saying that every war ever fought was justified no what I AM saying is that sometimes in this fallen world good people have no choice.

I was asking why we trust God with our finances, our health, and our soul, but not our protection too? Shouldn't we be praying instead of bombing our enemies? We pray for everything else and trust God, why not trust him to protect us?
Sometimes God uses a certain level of violence for our protection. Let me asks you and this is an honest question if you were out somewhere and say there was an active shooter situation would you be mad if either the police or someone with a CCW ( thus carrying legally) shot the person and thus stopped the threat of harm to you and everyone else?

here is how i see it. Christians dont wage war, because God is their help. God uses the government to administer justice in the heathen world, but we are not His instruments for war. We are his instrument for peace. We must separate the church from military, just as we do the rest of the world. We are holy, separate, and spiritual, not carnal. We promote words of peace and love, not warfare.

Anyone who says that WW2 is an example of Christian justice is wrong. Thats Gods work, not ours.
