War never did make any sense.
The populous who actually went to war was duped into believing it was for their benefit, but if you look at history, the populous has never benefited from any war, and that goes all the way back to the Pharaoh's.
The rich and powerful have developed their 'duping' schemes far beyond those in past generations. In the past the common man knew he was screwed and accepted it. Today success is dangled ("if you work hard and play by their rules" lie) tantalizingly within reach of the common man, then jerked away if his hands come too close to grabbing it.
If you play by the rules made for you, by them, you will likely fail.
If you play by the same rules they play by, you will likely win.
