Waiting (My Testimony)

I waited on him

But he didn't arrive at the right time

I waited on him

But he left me holding the bag all day long

I waited on him

But the pain grew to much for me to bear alone

I waited on him

But I lost the two girls I loved more than the world

I waited on him

But I slowly fell ill and almost went insane as well

I waited on him

But I started doubting everything he ever said about himself

I waited on him

But the confusion never stopped and the healing never came along

I waited on him

But in the end I had to give up, because he left me waiting far to long.

Hi,

Sounds like you have been through some really rough stuff. My life as a Christian went through some really tough patches. Yet now I feel blessed. Stick in there I am sure some thing good is ahead for you.

Though the trail is tuff
You are made of excellent stuff

A man who can take the pain
will surely a better life gain

One who has known loss
Will not others throw and toss

Christ suffered nails in His hand
He was forsaken by His band

People from us may flee
Yet God will give us the victory

You are a saint
You will not faint

Comfort will return to your soul
God will make you whole

Your "Testimony" poem touched my heart. I have no answers, especially for the tragic loss you have suffered.

The only thing that came to my mind was the last verse from Bob Dylan's first "post-Gospel era" album, "Infidels", in the song "Jokerman":


"It's a shadowy world, skies are slippery gray,
A woman just gave birth to a prince today and dressed him in scarlet.
He'll put the priest in his pocket, put the blade to the heat,
Take the motherless children off the street
And place them at the feet of a harlot.
Oh, Jokerman, you know what he wants,
Oh, Jokerman, you don't show any response."

I think Dylan, at this time in his life, was also "waiting", with seemingly no response from Jesus.

It seems a lot of people are waiting on God, but in truth God is waiting on people. He has fully paid the awful price of redemption and offers it freely to all mankind, and waits for those who might come and receive the Savior of all who will have Him --the Lord Jesus. See John 3 and John 14 to understand this more perfectly.

I hope you do make that Choice. It will certainly be the best thing for you. I know you said you should only have to ask God something once, but some times he lets us go though the tough stuff so like you said "You learn to care for others". Some times the most sincere Christians go through the toughest battles.

Now looking back I am quite happy for all the suffering I had, as it helps me feel for people who suffer.

And you need to suffer first before you will know how to feel for people? Then i'm going to go out of my way from now on and hurt everyone I meet, because it will make them better people.

"Faith", which is what being a believer is all about, is simply resting in God's grace, knowing that He knows our needs even before we ask. That is my prayer for you, as well as for myself. I believe we already have God's grace, only we don't know it.

Then what you have there is only what you believe you have, not what you know you have otherwise you would be able to prove faith as something real.

Yes, of course I cannot prove "faith". It is real to me because I believe it. I know I believe it because I act on it every day. Faith gives me hope to go on, my faith helps me live my life in love, as best as I can. It gives me hope that I will see my loved ones on the other side. God says: "He that has the Son has life (eternal), and he that has not the Son of God has not life" (see all of 1 Jn. 5:9-13 to understand, and pray also over John 14), and that is by faith and obedience and trust in God who loves us and cannot lie.

What do you mean time is up? How old are you?

Why do you think you would be miserable without faith and that you wouldn't live a life of love without it?

I have wanted to tell you that there is a picture in my mind of you standing there waiting, while God is picking up a bunch of flowers, and then He gets there and you've gone. Well anyway, you can't force things to happen that aren't going to happen. I don't think it is love anyway, if you won't wait for Him the rest of your life.

God needs our love? can't be for his benefit.
