I know by my username and music taste, you probably think I'm a no good scum bag. But to the you the truth, I'm not a mean spirited person at all. Nor am I alot of things you probably think I am.

I look forward to learning more about Jesus and God on these forums and talking to people about it.

I can't speak for others, but personally, I try not to judge anybody, least of all on the first meeting. And back in the day, I used to listen to Limp Bizkit... my taste in music has changed is all.

As for being a "no good scum bag," we all are ("for all have sinned") so welcome to the club :)

I look forward to learning more about Jesus and God on these forums and talking to people about it.

Welcome :)

Welcome - from a fellow "no good scum bag" sinner who needs Jesus. :)

Welcome :)

Thanks man.

Its weird because the music I like(rap mainly) is not really who I am. I know they say that music is the window to one’s soul. I do not believe that is the case for me, because I am against doing it all for the sex, violence, drugs, greed. But strangely when it comes to my entertainment tastes. That’s what I enjoy. I actually bagged all my cds up once and threw them in the dumpster in an attempt to move toward a more positive rap direction. But I ended up buying a few back after a month and a half. As for Limp Bizkit, for some reason I guess I do connect with Fred Durst to some degree. Its subtle things he says and the different emotions, and some of their songs aren’t immoral. Like for example the song ‘build a bridge’. Im not going to lie though, part of the reason I like them(as well as rap) its find it fun to listen to when working out or driving in my car. I guess I like a little edge or aggressiveness in my music, its bad I know, but its just the way I am.

I am not going to lie, I am very ignorant when it comes to religion. I was always spiritual in the sense that I’ve been praying to God since I was probably 14 or so, but didn’t really look into religion seriously until last year. I bought a bible earlier this year and hope to read it soon. I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I try to tell the truth, I don’t steal, I’m actually a virgin still. But I have my issues such as a immoral media, masturbation etc.

I hope one day I move away from all my sins completely, for some reason I am not ready to yet. But I believe that for some life is a process and things take time. You know?

**ps. the reason I picked this username is to expose the fact Im not a perfect follower. But I hope to sin less one day**

@LimpBizkitFan

It's all good. I'd probably be embarrassed if anyone were to look at what's in my "workout" playlist on my ipod. The kind of music I need to listen to when lifting is totally different than any kind I normally listen to. I needed stuff to "get the blood flowing" whereas normally I listen to smooth jazz and classical music. Go figure. Try working out the Tchaikovsky and you'll see what I mean, lol.

We've all got our own issues. And we all struggle against our sin nature and put to death the flesh daily. I don't think anyone here will fault you for that. Let's journey together brother!

The only time we will be sinless is in heaven. Start a thread on your concerns - we are here to listen, BizkitFan.

Thank you all for being so nice, I thought I’d get some backlash.

First, where would I start a thread like that if I wanted too?

And secondly, I guess my biggest question, is it true that you cannot be a Christian if you have flaws in your character like continuing to listen to immoral music and other sins? I’ve been struggling with this question for probably a year now; it makes me sad and scared. I know some Christians say you either give yourself 100% to Christ or you’re a child of the devil. I know I have my shortcomings, but I do not look at myself as a child of the devil, because I feel I live my actual life in a good manner. I try to be kind to everybody and helpful. What do you think?

I thought that it might be the Army Digi Camo in the picture.

Heh, yea. I'm sitting on a C140 on the tarmac at Bagram air base, waiting to fly to Kyrgyzstan on my way home. At 1am. In March (08). It was cold, hence the fleece hat. Ahh, memories.

God only takes folks with flaws in their character. "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God."

Jesus took care of all our sins on the cross. All our good works are "as filthy rags." It is what Christ has done for us that gets us to heaven. We cannot save ourselves with good works.

Greetings all. I've been a lurker for a while, might as well introduce myself so I'm not that guy you call the cops on...

I'm Aaron, live in rural Arizona. I was raised until about 11 in the ELCA (I'm not sure the ELCA was the ELCA then, but the church I was brought up in is part of it now...), then began attending a KJVO baptist church, then no church, and about a year ago began fellowshipping with a local LCMS church. As I'm very conservative (politically and theologically) I'm ok in the LCMS.

As I study the book of concord I find I'm in near total agreement with it. I lean amillennial in my eschatology, so I fit right in in that regard (always had a hard time with the "secret rapture" thing).

Veteran of the US Military, served one tour in Afghanistan in 2007. After 7 years of service I got out in 2008 (I joined August of 2001, and we all know what happened shortly thereafter).

I look forward to fellowshipping with you all here! Any questions just ask.

Welcome cajunman to CF!

Are you really liberal? Cause just about anything goes in the ELCA. Have you considered LCMS, WELS, AALC, ELS? All worth checking out.

I am liberal on some things and quite conservative on others. I grew up in LCMS and no offense to any of that Synod here, I don't think I could ever bring myself to go back. Also, as far as I know, where I live there are only two options: LCMS and ELCA. This, though, may change as the congregation I am joining has had some (unofficial at this point) conversations about disaffiliating and linking up with LCMC or NALC.

I suppose it would be very hard to give up the freedom one has in the elca. Having to have restraints is a tough thing.
