You can read the other posters. Some are very angry.
This thread is rather serene other than a poster that shall not be named getting hyperbolic.

I disagree but it is not worth going into detail. The name calling is a sure sign of a great deal of anger and not serene.

I think it's sad that anti-vaxxers have to muddle the conversation with anti-government propaganda, conspiracy theories, and bogus and distorted claims about the threat of both Covid and the vaccine. If they would just stick to the evidence, and not resort to hyperbole and outright lies, it would actually be possible to have a reasonable conversation about the potential health implications of vaccines. But unfortunately that just doesn't seem to be possible.

I don't know why it is, but some people seem to have an innate tendency to imagine devils where none actually exist. It must afford some evolutionary advantage, but it certainly doesn't say much about our status as rational beings.
I just asked a friend in the US about the vaccine and she reported that some of her patients had a stroke right away afterwards and another had sudden thyroid problems but otherwise there is an information blackout in the US. They can get no information other than what they know from people they know. This already tells me why so many blindly believe the government and think anyone who thinks about what the science ought to be is a anti-vaxer or a conspiracy theorist or other uncomplimentary names.

Not my view, just the facts.
Never said it was your opinion. I said it was sad that is the the government, not you.
Good for them. Unfortunately, Americans are as compliant as cats being advised to take a bath.
Seems to be the case
capitalism
The same kind that was practiced before there were labor laws. Employers could demand what hours they wanted and need offer no benefits. IT is modern slavery if labor laws are suspended. They said it was simply "capitalism" too as women and children worked long hours for little pay. What have I heard from the capitalists recently.."you will own nothing and be happy."
During a trip to Europe years ago I got to meet some members of the entourage of the Swiss entry to the World Cup. They were very pleasant. So.... Go Switzerland!
Thanks! It was a really unexpected result.

"Hyperbolic" is not a noun.
I did not use it and I wasnt thinking of exaggeration but name calling. Exageration does not indicate anger necessarily. Name calling or personal insults does.

The only person I know that had a stroke had one while suffering from COVID-19. Interestingly, this was a coworker that probably transmitted to me. I live in the US and have talked with a veritable plethora of vaccinated people and the worst side effect noted was a day or two of mild flu-like symptoms. Go figure.

Probably a small sampling. My friend works in medicine and sees more than you likely. I asked if there were any reactions and she sited these a few more. I myself know a small sampling of people who got the vaccine and they were only sick for a few days, although pretty sick. No one claims that the reactions are numerous. They are rare. I just think it is a risk that each person ought to decide for themselves. Recovery of the virus is maybe 99% if you are under 65 so that is also expected and death from the virus rare. I believe in defending the rights of those who want to choose their risk. I am not in favor of those rights being removed or the public being kept away from information from unbiased sources.

If you are happy they way your country is forcing vaccinations and I am happy they way my country is not doing so, then we both are happy right? Why should we do things they way you do?

See COW4511, a serene post. No acid and no insults.

It's also funny that many of those same people will claim with a straight face that Trump always tells the truth and that's why liberals hate him.

Those who respect rights let those who are afraid of the virus get vaccinated. Those who respect no one else’s rights insist others take a needless risk in some cases. Their rights and fears trump everyone else’s. One is not even allowed to say they have a different opinion. Even that right is gone. Sad!!
You need to compare city to city, not your city to our whole land mass.
Did you vaccinate your whole family, btw? Did you answer that?
Yes. Everyone thought it was the right thing to do.
