In need of some prayers again. My stepchild has a autism evaluation later on this week. How much paperwork can I expect to do? What should I expect? Prayers for strength and positivity will gladly be appreciated.
We will likely be at the clinic all day tomorrow. Any tips and recommendations also appreciated. Keep us in your prayers and thoughts tomorrow. I’ve taken a day out from work.

Praying all will go smoothly. Best advice is to have all the medical records and doctor's notes. Doctors will write a summary health evaluation (one page) confirming your child is under their care, the diagnosis, prognosis and medications they are on. Most do it through the "my chart" on line but I have picked up hard copies signed as well. It helps when there is a mound of medical records and you put a doctor's summary signed note on top. That holds a lot of weight with the VA and they are difficult to deal with.

Thank you for the advice. I’ll also take a pen with me.

The people at the clinic should be happy to guide you through the process, step by step. No doubt they have done so with others many times. It seems you are just feeling so stressed out. They should understand that too.

I pray for insight and strength and peace for you and for all to go well.

That’s true. I’m sure if this is a medical clinic they have a social worker as well.

See if there is a Chapter/ Meeting of Mom's Against Autism in your area or online you can visit. A few years ago they were world wide and very very helpful to other moms (and dads, just it was mostly stay-at-home housewives) .....
