  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I haven't thought of that play in a long time! It was good, though. I think I saw a TV version of it when I was younger. I don't remember much, but I remember it was touching. Wasn't it about a teacher in a poor neighborhood who was a great teacher and very optimistic even though she struggled? And she was finally going to give up but then her students told her how much she meant to them?

Yeah. Basically it's, like happymom said, it's about a first-time teacher teaching homeroom in an inner-city NY high school. The students are really rambunctious and for awhile she feels like she's just spinning her wheels. As the play goes on, she learns how to handle them (fellow teachers included) and what works for them and what doesn't. And somewhere along the way, a student falls out of a window, and is in the hospital for all of Act Two. :p
