I thought I would share with you an experience I had after listening to the Book of Revelation a few years ago. I will just copy and paste what I wrote a few years ago: I listened to the whole book of Revelation, the dramatized version on last week and when I got to the end I felt a really great joy that I knew that Jesus was the real God and that he loves me deeply. At my church Thursday night my pastor said that the Holy Spirit spoke to his spirit telling him that Jesus loves him so much and I remembered him sharing that testimony right when I got to the end of Revelation where Jesus says "Behold I am coming soon." The next day, Saturday at work I felt a great joy throughout the whole day and songs about God came into my mind and brought joy to my heart. (That is unusual because often i have struggled to stay in a positive mood during work).
Then one or two days later I was listening to K-love and for a moment they played a short statement from Beth Moore describing the great joy the Holy Spirit can bring, and that it's ridiculous to give that up for any illicit act. Maybe God meant for me to hear that right after he let me feel the joy in his salvation as a message of warning to me.
And by the way, this was the very first time listening to or reading the book of Revelation that I actually prayed to God that I would partake of the blessing promised to those who hear the words of the prophecy and take them to heart. And so it is really incredible that this is also the very first time that I felt so blessed and filled with joy after listening to this book. It shows that God really answered my prayer.
