  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I doubt we are both currently facing the same vice as there are so many out there that go against Christ's teachings, but I am also stuck in a similar situation. I will keep you in my prayers when I pray about my own problem, and would you mind remembering me too?

Just remember that God is full of infinite forgiveness, and He is the One who gives us strength to overcome these things :)

I will pray for you, and I hope that God will strengthen your mind to those things that you so desperately want to get rid of. Just know that you are in control of your own mind, and not the other way around. You alone can stop these things, but not entirely alone of course, God is the best help there is. I will pray for you in your search to be ridden of the things keeping you from Christ.

What is wonderful is that you hate the sin/s and want to be closer to the Father. That is, of course, sadly not true for all!

It never hurts at all, at all, to fast along with the praying to be protected from the temptation. (But please don't overdo the fasting. You can get health problems as unfortunately I know from personal experience.) That is all that has really worked for me, personally, against strong satanic attacks, fasting and hear felt prayer.

One thing I have learned over the years in my own life is that, if I am struggling hard against the temptation, I am going to lose sooner or later. Usually it is sooner.

It is like the devil is this alien coming against us saying "Resistance is useless!" He's right. So right. That is, our own human resistance. He's too much for us.

I have learned it is better not to try. It is better to rely. You cannot overcome very strong overcome temptation. Why bother? But your Savior can do it for you!

Like everyone else I have had sins (not that I am lily white now, ahem!) that are too embarrassing to mention. Yet I can easily think of two right off the top of my head that used to have me in slavery, but that now I hardly ever think about, because Yahushua, the Burden Bearer set me free from them.

There is hope. There is Him. He wants you free more than you do. Fast and pray and don't try, rely. He loves you. So much. He'll do for you what you can never do for yourself, little child of His.
