Put that together with:
John 3:18
Luke 16:26
Rev. 20:10
Rev. 21:8
Psalm 37:1-2
MT. 25:41
Luke 12:9
and many, many more verses that talk about eternal condemnation for those who reject Jesus on earth.
But Universalists always take God's word out of context with the rest of the bible to suit their itching ears. That's no different than taking a sentence like; "God sends everyone to heaven except those who deny Christ on earth" and striking out the last part of the sentence so that it reads; "God sends everyone to heaven." That grossly misquotes and misrepresents God's word just as it turns the word "few" in MT. 22;14 into "all."
So when you quote the bible, please remember to put all scripture together instead of taking verses out of context with the rest of the bible so you can accurately pass along God's meaning.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Condemned to what remember Many of us "Universalists" still believe in Punishment
Luk 16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Does not say that that Gulf will be fixed forever it simply reinforces punishment...
Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Forever and....so you can add to eternity?
Rev 20:10 And the Adversary who is deceiving them was cast into the lake of fire and sulphur, where the wild beast and where the false prophet are also. And they shall be tormented day and night for the eons of the eons."CLV
Rev 20:10 and, the Adversary that had been deceiving them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where were both the wild-beast and the false-prophet; and they shall be tormented, day and night, unto the ages of ages.
Eons of the Eons or Ages of the Ages definitely make more sense here and it is also the more precise translation of the original Greek....
Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
This passage has not even mentioned forever..once or twice...LOL..And remember that some of us "Universalists" believe in the Just punishment of the wicked....
Psa 37:1 <A Psalm of David.> Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
Psa 37:2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Didn't the evildoer in you perish in much the same manner when you confessed Christ as your Savior. Just because the evildoer will perish... We died with Jesus on the Cross and we were resurrected with him as well...This verse is not definitive....

OK we are getting somewhere now Aionios fire

Sodom and Gomorrha burned with eternal fire...are they still burning? If one "eternal Fire has gone out after accomplishing its task we can reasonably say that the other one will too
Luk 12:9 But he that denieth me before men shall be denied before the angels of God.
And if we were to deny him we would suffer judgement for our actions....
which is Not eternal but correcting because the Lord Does not cast off forever.
