Origen? What or who is that? And where in God's Word is that found?
Origen lived in the second and third centuries AD. He was one of the founding fathers of Allegorism, which means he interpreted the scriptures to suit himself. He believed the soul went through stages of incarnation on it's way to God and yes, he even thought the devil would be reunited with God.

That's why Uni's love him.:o

He was an author. That means he wrote things. Go read those things.

I cleave to God Almighty's Word, for that is what He commands us to do. not look to the left or the right but to set our faces like flint ahead on the path He foraged for us since before the foundation of the world, for he tells us that His Word is a Lamp unto our feet and a Light unto our path. He also says the truth of His Word is like a double-edged sword. It is part of the armor we are admonished to put on.

Reminds me of some thoughts i had on this very thing:

It's the difference between "knowing OF" God and knowing Him as Father, as Abba and being His child. Here's the key. His children FEAR Him. I'll explain.

His children do fear Him and take Him at His Word and are not double-minded. They know their Shepherd's voice and heed it. He tells us false teachers will come as angels of light, wolves in sheep's clothing. The original enemy himself said to Eve a looooong time ago "Did God really say...?" The original liar and deceiver himself, Satan, the enemy of God. Of course he will attack the Bible, the words in the Bible. He attacked God's own words to Eve herself when God told her what was prohibited. She herself heard God's words and was still taken in by Satan's deception. She did not fear God. That was the sin- not fearing God, even before she began an interplay of Satan's "did God really say....?" and decided to be as God herself. My my my the enemy is clever, is he not?

God's children fear and love God. Their hearts, minds, and all of their beings are sold out to this God, this Creator, this Father, this Abba they love. They know in Whom they believe. They have also been taught who the enemy is, and his many guises. Their eyes are wide open. They know, as their Abba has said, that he comes as a thief, a liar, a murderer, as he has done so from the beginning. It is the same now as it was then. He seeks whom he may devour, in a myriad of ways. And he always says "Did God really say...?"

We know what the Bible says through interpretation. Our interpretations are not infallible (as we are human). It is worthwhile to know how others have interpreted Scripture.
That sounds like an excuse to misinterpret the scriptures, read others, and pick the one we like best. The Holy Spirit is our interpretor, not Origen.

We are fallible. God is not.

What? No response to the word of God?
Jude 1

The Warnings of History to the Ungodly

A warning of mockers, devoid of spirit, ungodly, "wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. "
"and the things which they know by instinct, like unreasoning animals, by these things they are destroyed. " perishing in the rebellion; doubly dead!!

after saving a people out of the land of Egypt, subsequently destroyed those who did not believe. He seperates the sheep from the goats. The beloved from "those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, " AMEN!!
Let the Word of God speak for Him!

A warning of mockers, devoid of spirit,

I wonder what Jude meant when He said the evil men were devoid of spirit?
Does this explain it?
"wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever. "

sorta sounds like falling stars.....

Lots of people have the Holy Spirit. Most of them disagree about the Bible.

Where does that leave us? With the few, who think they are the only ones with the Spirit (a very arrogant and lonely view, though I have no doubt they sincere think it is true), or with the many, who recognize the empowering strength of the Spirit to be in its faith-inspiration, and not in a direct, verse-by-verse 'translating' power.

I do not apologize for what it sounds like. I am only presenting the facts.

I disagree that most cannot agree on what the bible says. Most, I agree, if going verse by verse, would find something they didn't translate the same. But most of the Christian world agrees we need a savior and Jesus is that Savior.

For the most part it is litteral vs. allegorical. Those who believe litterally are largely in agreement, those who look at scripture allegorically don't have much basis for agreement.

The majority of Christians, sadly, don't know what they believe, and when you tell them what the bible says they go "Oh Yeah? OK" Among true students of the Word, there are litteralists, and there is everyone else.

Read the second chapter of 2 Peter and the book of Jude. Read them litterally and tell me there is no permanant condemnation of un-repentant man. I know, you can't read them litterally, they would be wrong in your views.
