Unless there is an opportunity AFTER death to enter through the "one way".

For anyone following this thread, a solid scriptural basis for the "no chance after death" would be good.

Another good point...

I had never concidered that! Very thought provoking post... thanks Hobart.

"I guess we are going to have to agree to disagree on this point because it looks to me from the passages quoted earlier that no one comes to the Father except in the way established."

I guess so then, because I also think God as shown by the passages and the bible as a whole, doesn't hold people that can't understand the choice accountable for that choice.

"o.k. There is a lot of stuff in Rom 9-11 what specifically are you pointing to?"

Israel will be saved per the old convant but they don't believe in Christ. Read those chapters, they are quite enlightening.

"Also I am curious, what is your scriptural basis for "no chance after death"?"

When you're standing before a judge in a court at sentencing can you change your plea? nope, you're already been found guilty or innocent. Paul in chapter 10 of romans hashes out how Israel can be saved without belief in Christ..His very first thoughts are 1. they didn't hear..or 2 they didn't understand. If those are yes they Paul seems to say they are saved. The later part of chatper 10 seems to flow like this..they have to be saved because God said they would be. Okay.hmm....Do they now know God..no..they are knowledgable of him..have they not heard..no..they have heard in the scriptures...Will God reject them? No..there has to be something else...He then goes into a long discourse on how they fell away for our benefit. then summs up with they will be saved becuase God promiced it so.
