Im Having a rough time in my walk..I havent been faithful towards God and I would fall away and sin..Im not being lead by the spirit and im always sorrounded by people who live sinful lives. I told this one guy who I work with about the Lord and he just got offended and said he only trust in himself...I know that was foolish of him to say..Anyways im worried about my relationship with God/Jesus I always end up disobeying him and then it bothers me because I want to see myself living right for God and having a awesome relationship..I pray to him but im not sure hes hearing me and forgiving my sins...I want to hate sin and follow Jesus but I dont know how. Im not happy where I stand with God at the moment and I hate living like this. One moment I repent from my sins and make a commitment to follow then the next I end up sinning and thinking bad thoughts..I want to have a strong relationship that would make me happy and I feel anything outside of God is a waste of my time..when I Pray im not sure if im forgiven.

This is where you need to start. You need to disassociate from those people (I know that's not easy to completely cut them off if they are people you live/work with but do your best to reduce your time with them). People can be as toxic as alcohol or durgs - they are negatives that distract us and pull us way from focusing on things that are supposed to be positive, such as our relationship with God/Christ. As humans we are weak and there are always negative forces which can pull us away from God. In the meanwhile, continue to seek your relationship with Christ. Never give up! For He will guide you to keep you on the straight path.

Dear you have a real problem in forgiving yourself after asking forgiveness from JESUS. I REALLY DO BELIEVE YOU ARE FORGIVEN BUT YOU MUST REMEMBER I am only human and not JESUS. JESUS PROMISED HE WOULD. YOU CAN TAKE THAT TO THE BANK!!!

Now I believe that no matter what anyone says you will not be satisfied. The reason being is I feel you may have a mental illness that needs to be treated by a doctor. I am bipolar #1 but I take my meds and have had no problems in years. There is no disgrace in mental illness. It is no different than any other disease. The biggest problem we have with mental illness is that whatever we think is so we act on. Even though it may be wrong. The most important thing we can do besides take our meds is have someone close that you trust tell you when and if you need to see a doctor. Then without question you see the doctor.

I'm a retired Private Investigator and I was working on a very important case that involved a family matter. This case lasted over 7 years and was a fight with the government on a injury to my son that they shot up with the anthrax vaccine. I fell into so much evidence that I could not collect and record it fast enough. I was smoking two cigs at a time and drinking coffee around the clock. I only slept about a hour or two at night. I could not get this off my mind. I even took a trip out of state to try to take my mind off the case but I found it impossible. I really tried. What happened is that I went manic. My wife told me I should see a doctor but I didn't. No one likes to think they are mentally Ill. While I was thinking my work was up to par I found out latter after treatment that I had gone off base. In fact my wife had to sign committal papers to have me committed to a mental hospital. All I know is 6 sheriff's Dept cars pulled up in the drive way and invited me to come to a mental holding cell.

The only reason I tell you this is so you won't take offense when I tell you to see a doctor. I feel real sorrow for you and know you can find no rest. SO PLEASE DO AS I SAY.

LOVE

I think you are a follower of Jesus as soon as you have the desire. You say you "want" to hate sin. You do. But sin is addictive, and we spend our whole lives falling and getting up. Just return to Jesus when you sin, He is there. God is a loving Father, and the story of the prodigal son teaches us that the Father is ready to welcome us home whenever we stray away. :) Regarding talking to other people about the Lord, some people do not receive those words well. Sometimes the best way to evangelize is with your life. Exemplify Jesus in the way you live, and you will be a far brighter light than telling someone "hey, you should follow Jesus." Hang in there, you're on the right track. No doubt the devil whispers doubt into the faithful's ear. I say stay on the path, avoid people who cause you to sin, and take on a nature of humility. :) Oh, and pray all the time. :)

I certainly understand your problem. I've been in this pattern for awhile too. It's so hard to stay with God, when there is so many other things around you. I feel as though i'm hopefully finding away back to God. I was very stubborn, and the two years that I've spent away from God have drastically changed my life. It's very sobering. I can honestly say that a couple of years ago, I was a happy person but not at this time. Since I fell, there has been one thing after the next going wrong in my life. But i've chosen to go back, and it's not easy at all. I'll pray for you Less, and hope for all of your prayers as well.

IF YE EYE OFFENDS YE, CUT YE OUT.

BETTER TO HAVE ONE EYE THEN TO BE CAST INTO THE ETERNAL PIT OF DAMNATION WHERE THERE BE GNASHING OF TEETH AND THE WORM OF ONE'S MIND CIRCLING INTO EVERYTHING ONE CAN THINK OF SEPARATED FOREVER FROM THE ALMIGHTY GOD IN THE ABYSS OF NO FORGET.

HOW HORRID IS THE TORMENT OF THE "SMART" AND "WISE" IN THE PITCH DARKNESS OF THE ABYSS WHERE THEIR STRENGTH HAS NO BEARING NOR THEIR SO-CALLED WISDOM!

WHERE IS MERCY FOR THE DAMNED SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF GOD THAT HATH BROKEN THEIR CHAINS AND DESTROYED THE EARTH WITH FLOOD?

THE STOMACH OF THE LORD FOR THEIR SOULS, ETERNAL DAMNATION FOR THEIR WRETCHED SINS.

Well, get down on your knees and worship the Lord Jesus Christ after forgiving everyone who has ever slighted you -- then ask the Lord for the Holy Spirit.

LessJay101,

Well for one you need some balance, don't require yourself to be this super christian who hates everything not about God and don't require yourself to be this sinfree person either or a person without unclean thoughts. Because no one is that way... no one is. No one is perfect.

Paul said something relevant to this, he said that our weapons are not carnal, but they are still mighty thru God for pulling down strong holds and taking every unclean thought unto obedience to Christ. 2 cor 10:4-5 (paraphrased)

That listed keeping your thoughts clean as one of the main parts of fighting the battle for God. Thats a big deal.... what i am saying is its not easy and having unclean thoughts is no surprise, thats going to always be one of your major battles as a christian and it will for everyone else to (paul just said that), so dont feel bad. People who say otherwise are wrong or their liars.

Stop expecting perfection of yourself and start by trying to make some progress instead. John said a person who thinks hes free of sin only decieves himself, so stop trying to be that person, ya know? Try to be a child of God saved by grace instead...becuase thats all we all. The bible calls us the righteousness of God, not becuase we act perfect but becuase of grace and thats all it will ever be.

Your catching yourself in a visious cycle as its called because one action that leads to another action that ultamitly makes you redo the first action again, around and around and around... stop falling into depression and losing your passion because you sin that ultamitly leads you to fall into depression again, or rather, i would think your lows wouldnt be so low if you wouldnt try to climb so high to begin with. Just don't expect perfection ok?
We are all a work in progress.

Somethings you need to do are maybe commit to a daily worship, prayer, and reading the bible...and be faithful to it. this will grow you.
Do this, rather than expecting perfection of yourself because one will make you grow but the other will only hurt you becuase you'll always fail and you'll be back here again doubting yourself and thinking you need to somehow to start over and have accomplished nothing.

Begin to grow as a christian so you make progress, do things that cause this, don't expect perfection and better yet don't ever condemn yourself again, forgive yourself as the lord already has.

This walk is hard and im currently struggling with Porn and everytime I see a girl all I think is dirty thoughts. I almost gave up on God because its too hard..but then a slight of depression and guilt came upon me and I repented..I guess I need to pray more and read his word more so God could help me overcome this.

The bad thing about it is I sin knowing im going againest God...I want to stay faithful because I love God/Jesus but I guess I love the sin more if I keep doing it.

Ima ask for forgiveness and start over...How can I get up at a good start with God?

Hi LJ ,

Lust can be a real struggle for a young man especially . The cure is that we must die to our selfish sinful nature , but this may take quite some time ; as we grow older it becomes easier because we are weakened physically by age , and Christ's strength is made perfect through our weakness . What covers us during the time while we are still struggling is The Lord's longsuffering . Of which The Apostle Peter said -

And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; <-----> 2nd Peter 3:15

In other words , if the Lord didn't patiently bear with us ... none of us would be saved !

Therefore one very appropriate thing to do right now , is thank The Lord for being longsuffering , and realize that , even though it is crucial that we learn how to endure well and overcome temptation , The Lord is giving us a generous space for seeking , and finding , and applying the wisdom and strength we need to be victorious in Him . This generous space is however limited and it is not appropriate to expect that perpetual failure is not without serious consequence . About 70 years is the norm ( but there's no guarantee ) ... but don't panic , yet don't be lulled into a false sense of security either , by accepting the false notion that sin is now somehow okay , because of Jesus' Mercy .
Keep seeking praying , studying , and following The Leading of Lord's Spirit as best as you can ... and in time you'll become stronger spiritually , and find the consistency for which you soul cries out .

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years. <-----> Genesis 6:3

This was later reduced somewhat to 70 or 80 .

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. <-----> Psalm 90:10

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
<-----> 1st John 2:1+2

Another key to overcoming is embracing charity wholeheartedly . And by charity , I especially mean being charitably minded towards others . For example , if one sees what appears to be another person failing miserably , the last thing one should do , for overcoming our own sins sake , is regard them uncharitably with a harsh and judgmental spirit .

Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. <-----> Galatians 6:1

And even after we have overcome , the remembrance of what an ordeal it was for us , ought to continually defend against us regarding someone weaker in an uncharitable way .

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. <-----> Romans 15:1

In fact this is a good way to distinguish the truly strong in Christ from those merely posing as mighty .

Charity suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil;
Rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
<-----> 1st Corinthians 13:4-7

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. <-----> Colossians 3:14

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. <-----> 1st Peter 5:8

A charitable mind is cheerfully willing to give others the benefit of the faith , namely the allowance that Jesus can work wonders in their life , in spite of how bad they may have gotten on their own .

And remember we are called to serve God , therefore do what you do unto the Lord , ( searching to know and prove what His Will is for you ) and not for the recognition or approval of man.

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;
Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
<-----> Colossians 3:23+24

( Read 2nd Peter Chapter 1 - for more inspiration )

May The Lord Be Pleased to Confirm His Truth , and Bless all who call upon Him for Salvation . Amen .
