  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Uneven creation...

Some people are born with lots of talents while some are just born with no or little talents
Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouth while others have to worry about their next meal
Some people are born handsome or prety while some people are born badly deformed
Some people are by nature kind and compastionate while otherse are born plain evil and cold-hearted

Please do not give me 'profound' answers...i receive a lot of it all times...you are talking to a non-christian with little christian background...make it simple

Alot of ministers in order to make their church members feel secure, teach that God controls everything in this world. The problem with that is that poor God gets blamed for everthing that goes wrong.I'm certain that many Iraqi women are blaming God for the American soldiers who are killing and maiming their children.Although God created the world,He very rarely interveans personally in people's lives except in response to personal prayer. So alot of what we have to deal with in this world was created by mistake ,immoral/illegal behavior of humans or sometimes even being in the wrong place at the wrong time, not by God.In your message the problems you cited are created by poor marriages - one person marrying an inferior spouse. That's really not God's problem either is it?How many people wait until God personally speaks to them and tells them who to marry? So all of us have to deal with problems caused by others, not by God.And that's basically the purpose of life,to see if we will deal morally with the problems we encounter or whether we will find immoral solutions to them. Our life is one long test to see if we will remain in fellowship with Jesus by following His teachings,or whether we will fall away and start to live an anti-Christ lifestyle. Some Christians may tell you that all you need to do to receive salvation,is to mutter a brief prayer. It would be great if it were that simple.Unfortunately,Christians are required to daily follow Jesus' teachings throughout their life to insure they will receive salvation. The problems they encounter in the world merely test their loyality and faith to determine if they will fall away and no longer accept Jesus as their savior. If God did not require this testing period, then everyone would immediately go to heaven after they became a Christian. So having to overcome problems is in God's will for purposes of testing, but it's a serious mistake to blame God for creating the problems.

oh...the question i wana ask is why God give such uneven 'whatever'

Life is about contrasts. We recognize the light of Christ because we see, on a daily basis, the depravity of the blackness of fallen man's soul. We recognize godly compassion because we have been exposed to cold-hearted cruelty. We know love because we can see the hate in others eyes. We know the righteousness and holiness of God because we encounter the sinfulness of man. All these things work together to enhance our love for God, who has forgiven the vast heinousness of crimes against Him by His creation.

All gifts, be they aesthetical or functional, are to be used for the glory of God. When we encounter one who is difficult to be around we are often reminded that we, too, are often difficult to be around. It is this self realization that helps us to be more loving to others. For instance, when we are ungodly to another person and that person repays our ungodliness with the kindness and compassion of Christ we are humbled and may, in turn, offer that same compassion to another.

God bless

Wow. :o :o :( God made mistakes in creation? Never heard a Christian express such sentiments.

Our life is one long test to see if we will remain in fellowship with Jesus by following His teachings,or whether we will fall away and start to live an anti-Christ lifestyle.

Again, wow. Our life is a test??!!! So, if we are saved it's because we passed the test?

Unfortunately,Christians are required to daily follow Jesus' teachings throughout their life to insure they will receive salvation.

So we receive salvation because we are successful at following Jesus' teachings throughout our life?

Got to tell you drdeancrosby, I've never heard this level of Pelagian heresy expressed in any Christian church before. What type of church do you go to?

Well...i dun really understand...if those were the mistakes of humans and not God...why is some people still born well while others are born sufferings?

In order to appreciate what God have given us, must some people be in contrast with us to see what good things God have give us?(my eng. is very poor...i dun think i have made myself very clear here, but well, it can't be help...)

everything comes as a testimony to Gods Greatness...even knowing that i may not look like it some times but belive that god knows what he is doing.... a child might be born with suvere cancer... and that baby will die... 8 hours after birth... you think... how is that is showing the greatness of God...later on in the life time of the mother... she finds alot of other people dealing with cancer as her baby did for a short time... this mother is a christian... she supports these people...she stays beside them and she prays for them...day after day... even if one of those peoplpe died of cancer... that lady made that persons life a lot better then it could have been... if u understand what im saying....
