What a strange dude! Synchestra is brilliant album, and Addicted is very good too. Ziltoid? Notsomuch. I like his work with Ayreon too, though their last few albums don't quite have the spark of their late 90s early 00s material.

Agreed. Ki didn't do much for me but I've been loving Addicted and am interested in picking up Deconstruct as soon as it is released.

I still think City, Infinity, and Accelerated Evolution are his best works though.


I haven't heard Arjen's latest work, but I'm in love with both Universal Migrator albums and the Human Equation. I just ignore the ending.

It's hard to keep up with all of Arjen's projects... the latest I heard was Guilt Machine, which was decent. Better lyrically (not so narrative), but nothing new musically. I agree about Universal Migrator 1&2, and I have a soft spot for Electric Castle because that's when I first discovered them in the late 90s.

they are sort of a mix of a sound of Rock/Punk/Rap it sounds pretty good to me actually. I like their songs Juggernauts, Anthem and Rescue Me.

Lobotomy for Dummies is an awesome song of theirs too.

Keldian... actually only heard of them cause someone posted a vid on these forums once before. But they're awesome.

Sci-fi inspired blend of power metal and that hard rock sound from the 70s and 80s.

^^^ Ah yeah, I know of Them Crooked Vultures. I believe And So I Watch You From Afar opened for one of their concerts... Well, at least that's who I remember it being, it could've been another band I listen to though.

The Mayan Project is also really good, they've got kinda a grittier alternative rock sound, but it's not too mainstream sounding, which I like.

And, Pilgrim Fathers is another band that I like, they aren't really even identifiable when it comes to genre though...
Then, there's 35007 and Souvenir's Young America.

Moving Mountains is also great.

One band that is underrated is May Blitz. They were a psychedelic & hard rock group from the 70's, who put out some absolutely amazing music. A perfect example on YouTube is their instrumental "8 Mad Grim Nits":
