The announcement has raised questions, given the extensive scientific research that has consistently found no link between vaccines and autism. Yet, despite overwhelming evidence debunking the claim, skepticism persists, fueled in part by HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

CDC to study vaccines and autism, despite several studies already finding no link

HHS spokesman Andrew Nixon confirmed the effort in a statement overnight, saying the agency plans to leave "no stone unturned."

"As President Trump said in his Joint Address to Congress, the rate of autism in American children has skyrocketed. CDC will leave no stone unturned in its mission to figure out what exactly is happening,” the statement said. “The American people expect high quality research and transparency and that is what CDC is delivering."

Finally, once we have all the information that our new, improved, streamlined DOGE-approved government generated data, in, we’ll be able to determine how much to extort fine Big Pharma!

White House pulls Dave Weldon from CDC nomination

The Senate health committee announced Weldon had been pulled shortly before he was scheduled to testify Thursday morning before the Senate’s health committee.

The pulling of Weldon marks a rare setback for a Trump administration nominee. The Senate has confirmed every controversial choice brought to a full vote on the floor to date. Weldon, who left Congress in 2009, drew scrutiny for his longtime promotion of the false claims that vaccines can cause autism.

Unlike Trump’s other health nominees who had a high profile by appearing regularly on Fox News, Weldon has lain low since leaving Congress in 2009. But he has continued to boost the false claims that vaccines cause autism despite overwhelming scientific evidence disproving them.

HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a longtime anti-vaccine activist who has criticized the CDC for decades and promoted false vaccines-autism links between vaccines and autism, proposed Weldon for the job, The Post previously reported.

Weldon would have assumed leadership of the agency as the Trump administration renews scrutiny of vaccines and autism, including plans for a CDC study on the topic [i.e. OP].

Naturally, we'll allow unbiased scientific research to settle this matter of fact-not-opinion. [Although it has already been settled.]

Vaccine skeptic hired to head federal study of immunizations and autism

A long-discredited researcher and vaccine skeptic will conduct a government study on whether vaccines cause autism.

The Department of Health and Human Services has hired David Geier to conduct the analysis, according to the officials, who spoke on the condition of anonymity for fear of retaliation. Geier and his father, Mark Geier, have published papers claiming vaccines increase the risk of autism, a theory that has been studied for decades and scientifically debunked.

Wikipedia on Mark Geier (the father)

David Geier appears to be less wiki-notable, but try this on for size:

Per the allegations of fact, he has a BA in Biology and a few grad courses under his belt, but no advanced degree.

The Maryland Board of Physicians concluded that David Geier violated Md. Code (1981, 2014 Repl. Vol.) § 14-601 of the Health Occupations Article by practicing medicine without a license. ... the Board found that Mr. Geier, who is not a physician, had diagnosed a patient, determined which blood tests to order for the patient, and ordered those blood tests.

On a petition for judicial review, the Circuit Court for Montgomery County upheld the Board's decision.

I mean, say what you will about Dr. Nick... at least he is a doctor.

OP/ED

Geier’s assignment to review the purported link was first reported by the Washington Post last week [above]. Since then, HHS has not commented on the assignment, either to confirm or deny it. I asked Geier to confirm his assignment, and also to state whether he still believes in the link and if so, what evidence he would cite to establish it. I received no reply from the HHS or Geier.

What is known, however, is that Geier is an employee of HHS. In the agency directoryhe is listed as a “senior data analyst” with an official HHS email address, which I used to reach him.

RFK Jr.’s relationship with the Geiers dates back at least to 2005, when he cited their vaccine studies in a discredited article he wrote titled “Deadly Immunity,” an anti-vax screed published by both Salon.com and Rolling Stone.

Both publications eventually retracted the article. In the piece, Kennedy asserted that “the Geiers have completed six studies that demonstrate a powerful correlation between thimerosal and neurological damage in children.” The correlation proved to be untrue.

Anyway, why would a secretary of Health and Human Services want to put on his payroll someone found to have practiced medicine without a license?[see above]

RFK Jr. pledges an answer to the 'autism epidemic' by September

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. made a significant commitment at Thursday's Cabinet meeting at the White House, saying that his agency will "know what has caused the autism epidemic" by September.

"We've launched a massive testing and research effort that's going to involve hundreds of scientists from around the world."

[Sounds expensive. Will the answer be "Increased awareness and testing?"]

Trump commended Kennedy on the September goal, speculating -- without scientific backing -- that the answer to driving down rates could be "you stop taking something, you stop eating something or maybe it's a shot, but something's causing it."

I love how there has been an answer for a long time.

Do we still blame things on teh gheys and the abortionists?

They could always blame the Bavarian Illuminati. It would make about as much sense.
