And majority of those casualties happened during the first year of the conflict. Claiming genocide is another Putin lie that you propagate because it's either convenient to you or you just wish to spread the lie. You go on about what God says about gays, but nothing about what God says about lying.

I have a family member who repeated this argument. He said Russia invaded Ukraine because they were killing Jews!

Putin told this to the United nations a few years back, without a stitch of evidence....

Actually, Putin had Russian troops enter the Donbas region in 2014, where his troops helped the rebels. Among the things they did was shoot down a Malaysian airliner (Malaysia Airlines Flight 17); there is solid evidence the missile launcher was driven into Ukraine from Russia on the morning of July 17, and after shooting down the airliner, it retreated back into Russia.

The killing in the Donbas, some of it by Russian soldiers of Ukrainians, had been going on for five years prior to Zelensky being elected. What you are posting is simply Russian propaganda.

I think we reach a dilemma here. Some of the new content flooding the zone can only come from minds addled by disinformation or intentionally pushing it (and perhaps both). Do we put a few posters on ignore and leave the unaware to be impacted by the unchallenged and disorienting false statements and narratives?

There's a crop of them join up or become active again around Christmas each year. My guess is they get bored being alone for the holidays and decide to spend their time online. It's been going on for a good ten years on CF, but has become worse the past few years. they stick around for a couple of months, get bored when no-one listens to their schtick, and leave.

Sadly most of the recent ones follow pretty predictable far-right wing propaganda lines, and aren't very interesting. Some of the older ones who used to crop up - from flat-earthers to a 9-11 truther that claimed he was a member of the republican party but objected to everything they ever did, or the Jewish guy who was on a crusade to expose catholic priests for abusing kids and would scour the internet to post any story that had a priest doing anything bad ever and spam the boards with it, were more amusing.
