  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

You guys ever feel like you can't do anymore studying or anything school related and just want to give up?

...that's what I feel like right now, I hate school. This stuff seems so pointless. As you already know, I'm a freshman, so that means I'm taking all of the pointless crap that I won't ever use again.

Aghh, this is great!

I am feeling like that too. I want to badly to just have a break from life for awhile, working full time and going to school full time is hard.

And I am still only a freshman, but I am going to be in school for a loooong time as I am going for my doctorate. Just hang in there, there are a ton of other people who know what you're going through:thumbsup:

I "quit" college over the Christmas break, and then showed up a week after classes began, once again. it was great; i gathered the resolve over the break, whilst a quitter ^^.

Aghh, this is great!

Heh, don't worry about it buddy. It happens to all of us, and it happens all the time. There's a cycle: you start out in the fall with a lot of enthusiasm, and about the middle of spring you're burned out. You recuperate over the summer, and start the whole thing over again. You'll work like a dog, (hopefully) get good grades, and enjoy your summer knowing that it was well earned. Oh and by the way, you do use the stuff you learn as a freshman. Take it from someone who's been there: those freshman classes really do make you into a more well-rounded person, even though they have nothing to do with your major. Right now you're learning how to think and how to study as a college student. While you might not realize it, this is good for you.

Alas, the grass is always greener on the other side. I'm on a one semester hiatus from school (I graduated in December, and I don't start graduate school until late August). I know it sounds crazy, but what I wouldn't give for a moderate chunk of homework right now!

Sad thing is I'm taking summer courses to catch up on my math.

Burnout here I come!

Yup, I needed a semester off myself.

I'd say that two month is really the most anyone would need. It's been almost three for me. My life consists of waking up late, doing some work if I feel like it (I work from home, which induces laziness), doing some physics problems to stay sharp, and of course Bible study. Personally I can't wait to get back to school. I've actually been begging the grad schools I got into to let me start this summer!

Don't worry about it. Summer classes are usually a bit more relaxed (since you're only taking one or two), so you should be fine. I took a summer English class at my community college back when I was in high school. Sure, I was in there for three hours a day. But since that was my only class for the whole semester, it didn't seem like too much of a workload.

Yah, I guess.

I'm getting really stressed out right now though because I don't know if I should transfer to Georgia Tech or stay here (Southern Polytechnic). Really, I'm just confused if I want to work out of state or in-state. Georgia Tech is known nationwide, so I'd be better off going there if I want to go out-of-state.

I love decisions.

I don't have this. But I don't work hard in school, I just sorta stroll along through everything. I don't see any point in getting stressed out over anything. I guess my school is just really easy compared to most colleges...
That's because it's in Canada. ;)

Just kiddin'
