Typing vs. Writing

ok...so which do you think produces better results? For you? In general? Does it matter? Does it depend on the story? What do you guys all think?

i have a very bad habit of writing whenever i'm bored. i know that doesn't sound too bad but trust me. it is. i write during class, meetings, sunday school, work, etc. basically, i write whenever i'm supposed to be doing something else. needless to say, during those times i don't have access to a computer so i've taken to carrying a journal everywhere i go. yeah, it's just feeding my habit but if i don't have it i tend to write on any scrap of paper i can find. i usually get more words out in less time on a computer but everything's thought out more when i write on paper.

It doesn't really matter...but I chose "writing" because the "flavor" really comes out there.

I can't read my own handwriting. I jot down great inspirations in the middle of the night, then try to type them up the next morning and wonder why I hadn't turned the light on.

I love how the computer stores things so neatly, and I'm not left with thousands of scraps of paper to sort!

well...i start out writing..and then go to typing...writing just gets me going better somehow...i dunno...but typing allows me to get more down faster...it lets things flow more for me. Thats just how i am though. I dunno if anyone else is like that.

I knew a published writer who insisted on typing everything on a typewriter--he said that cutting and pasting ruins the train of thought (he felt it cheapened things...I don't at all).

I type when I'm writing. Thanks to 10 + years of arthritis it would take me 100% longer to write it out by hand and besides I now type about 85 WPM so it's better.

yeah, typing's faster for me but like i said, i don't always have a computer when the inspiration strikes. my typing's about 95-100wpm.

When writing an original story, I seem to flow better with pen and paper. On the compute, I get distracted, lol. But I do do well typing, though.

I don't think I could handle the volume of information without a computer. It starts looking like a big mess otherwise.

The computer is the only way that I write. Why waste time putting it down on paper and then typing the whole thing again?
