DEI is just another buzzword that can have all types of meanings. The heart of the issue here is that secular universities and colleges are working as hard as possible for Satan, turning young adults away from God. This has always been the case, but in today's world, it has been ramped up 10 fold. It was not as in-your-face years ago when I attended. I worked in a secular 2-year college 29 years and witnessed the changes, little by little. And I know what was pushed in our in-service days, and heard what was taught in Sociology classes in the brief moments when I passed by classrooms of Sociology instructors on the way to my own math class I taught. I regret not steering my two oldest children away from these dominions of Satan and pray daily that they can turn to God. My 3 youngest, who did not immerse themselves in "Liberal Arts" are strong in their faith.

Satan would love if your son or daughter would embrace the gay/trans/lgbt/??? lifestyle so heavily promoted in secular colleges and universities. And THAT, is how DEI, or whatever you want to call it, fits in.

Well, don't let drag queens read to them--that will keep them from turning gay before they go to college, at least

The NYP article in the OP referenced a “report” that was done by a advocacy-group decrying the state of education with regard to DEI & CRT. Here is that report, heavily laden with emote-sprecht.
I also looked at that "report" and much of what they are complaining about is a requirement at many universities to take a course from a list of what we called "ethnic studies" courses (I think that was the term) 30+ years ago. Such courses could be something like "Intro to Asian-American Studies" or "The LIterature of the Harlem Renaissance" to something like the course I took on the history of Immigration to the US. You know, proper academic courses.

They were not cultural sensitivity training (we got that in freshman orientation) nor indoctrination (we didn't get any of that).

It also doesn't match what I am familiar as "DEI". In the corporate environment that involves hiring and promotion policies, etc. Universities also do that in hiring and promotion and in recruitment, but that's not the same as the curriculum.

LGBTQ Americans fit into the "DEI" definition, but diversity also encompasses women, people of color, people from different ethnic and economic backgrounds and religious beliefs.
All God's children.
Jesus was an excellent role model in his treatment of those on the margins of society, including lepers, tax collectors, and even his nation's oppressors. He told us not to look at the planks in their eyes, but the logs in our own.
Pentecost, the birthday of the Church, occurred at a time when Jews traveled from Africa and far off countries to gather in Jerusalem. Jesus planned it that way--as an open invitation to all to accept his message.
All of us are sinners. I often think that we overemphasize sexual orientation and other sexual struggles while underemphasizing sins that harm our human brothers and sisters much more.
Things like landlords who throw people out in the street because of one late rent payment (living in a state with the laxest tenant protections in the country, I read about these situations all the time.)
Payday lenders.
Abusive spouses and parents.
Our role with all those who struggle with sin (including ourselves) is to pray for them, model godly behavior, and view their efforts to change with understanding and encouragement.

I did explain it properly with a very basic simple statement.
You didn't. You explained your understanding of it, which is incorrect. If you want to be overly simplistic, you could boil the essence of DEI to the idea that everyone has the potential to be equal, regardless of one's background. But to characterize it as you did is grossly incorrect.

I disagree.
Then I would assume that you can provide a source or at least your reasoning on how you arrived at your definition? Otherwise, we're just talking about your opinion, and you know what they say about opinions.

I disagree.
Look, if you honestly, genuinely, are looking to have a real conversation about an issue, then coming in and telling the people who disagree with you "This is what you believe!" and then plugging your ears and chanting "LALALALALA!" when they tell you that you're wrong is really not the way to go about it.

If that's not your real goal, fine, but then I'm forced to wonder what you're doing here in the "Discussion and Debate" forum.

During the afternoon and evening hours, Monday through Friday, I am working at a manufacturing facility. Therefore, most of the time I don't have enough free time to make long posts discussing the different points of views. Usually, I am only able to have enough time for short and quick posts.

And? There's no rule stating that you must reply within a certain timeframe. If you don't have time to write a long post, you can simply wait until you have the time for it. I won't hold it against you.

The political landscape in America has not necessarily shifted towards conservatism or liberalism, but rather shows increased intolerance towards different ideas and ways of life. This highlights the need for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives.
No. What has happened is that radical elements of groups like transgenders, etc. have gone way beyond wanting to be accepted, they want their way of life to dominate this country, a country founded upon Judeo/Christian values. Thus they subject little children to drag queen shows. Radical transgenders want to change in front of girls in girls locker rooms, They wish to push back all of the progress going back to Billie Jean King in women's sports. It is part of the left's movement to radically change America. The Supreme Court ruling against discriminating against Asian students because of their race didn't stop them. They promote racial discrimination by pushing the concepts of white privilege and systemic racism.

The heart of DEI is that every one is equal regardless of the merits of one's qualities, skills, talents, experience, and qualifications.
That's the opposite of the DEI taught in schools that so many of us oppose. In the real-life DEI they talk about equity and "restorative justice."
Equity and restorative justice mean making up for alleged discrimination, the ideology that kept top academic-achieving Asians out of our leading universities. In the workplace DEI does not require the most qualified candidate be accepted, but instead a person to achieve "equity."

Yeah, just a few days ago I was waiting in line and someone tried to turn me trans. Honest! Oh no, wait, hold up. They asked me for my order and took my credit card. So it was a transaction, not trans actions, but I guess that's close enough to manufacture outrage in the marks.

CRT as a concept is too complex for children. It's an upper university level course.

But it shows us the missing info gaps in public school curriculum does some white washing.

And I have to wonder why some people are so desperate to keep true information from seeing the light of day...and then I remember people like the girls in this picture grew up and had children of their own...who may post on CF.

...like slavery...and (ironically enough) freedom.

So long as the child and parent want to go see it .

I think it just boils down to white conservatives just not being interested in learning about the minority experience in America and assuming it's just like their own life.

There you go. MAGAs don't want to be grouped by their race or the color of their skin. We are sick and tired of the racism and name-calling and divisiveness pushed by the left. A number of Democrats saw how our country was being destroyed by such ideology and crossed over party lines to get Trump elected.

He wasn't talking about MAGAs generally, but a specific subset of of conservatives--who might not even be all of them supporters of MAGA.

There are transgenders who don't stop at saying they want to be accepted and would like a sports team for transgenders that competes against other transgenders. That's acceptance. Insisting they changes in front of girls in girls locker rooms is pushing their beliefs on others--radical activism. What you call "dumb" is stark reality and it is happening.
