The Creationist- Science argument yells from two different assumptions, and the defenders do not listen to one another. Christians accept as fact the first four words of Genesis. Some other people ignore God.
The Bible does not give all the details. It does not tell us HOW God did all that He did. It does indicate that man was a special order of created beings. God did leave some clues in the rocks He made. Let's not ignore these. Instant miracles are not God's usual method. MIGHT He have used a process such as evolution in preparing the planet for us?

I belive not. God created everything, and saw it was good. There was absolutly no need for evolution. If God says itwas good, then it was ready for man.

Evolution is completely un-biblical. I belive in the Bible, and the Bible says God created everything the way it is. No need for something like evolution.

:preach: The Bible gives an accurate accounting of the history of the world from the first day of man to about the end of the 1st century AD. The Bishop Ussher, using only the Biblical recounting of history, determined the origin of the world to have taken place in October 4004 BC.

That means the world is 6000 years old, or at least man. Evolution claims that modern men have existed for tens of thousands of years AT LEAST. So even if you were to try to play a "doesn't tell us how" game, the fact of the matter is that Biblically human development COULD NOT have occurred in an evolutionary matter, even if we discount the literal passage of Adam's creation from the earth by God.

I think that "Creavolution" is one of the most hurtful doctrines of the "new" movements within Christianity. In believing that we MUST accept this sort of scientific malarkey, you are inherently giving credence to the Word of Man over the Word of God, which is the highest blasphemy. It is this sort of thinking that is destroying the modern Christian church for our young people.

This is the kind of blind faith that makes us ignorant.

Why do you suppose that so many Christian colleges feature evolution prominently in their biology curriculum? Baylor, Wheaton College, Notre Dame, Boston College -- just to name a few.

Because they are attempting to compete with the secular realm, and are willing to give up the basic fundamentals of their faith in order to do so.

You might want to step back for a second. Most christians don't consider a literal bible to be a "basic fundamental" of their faith.

Wow! I didn't mean to start a fight. I had hoped to start some thinking. When we polarize ourselves we seem more interested in defending our own little fort at any cost.
I believe the Bible. It does not give many details. Reading things INTO the Bible is close to blasphemy. Our Creator left us with a puzzle and gave us the brains to (reverently) figure it out. Just because some people jump to their own confusions, should Christians avoid such a challenge?
