You need to refer to Scripture instead of your own thoughts. How often is Christ required to be crucified?
If a person commits sin, they are of the devil.I'm not unrighteous.
Hebrews 10:1-18You need to refer to Scripture instead of your own thoughts.
John the Baptist said behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. But you change the word “world” to refer to the Elect when they do not even sound the same at all.Again, if Christ loses even one He atoned for; than His atonement was null and void and Jesus is a liar; because he specifically states He will lose nothing.
Jesus only paid for the sin of the elect.
So Christ atoned for sin of those who are of the Devil. Because.... Christ paid for sin...right?If a person commits sin, they are of the devil.
1 John 3:8
“He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
And you need to keep reading.Hebrews 10:1-18
1 Peter 1:John the Baptist said behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. But you change the word “world” to refer to the Elect when they do not even sound the same at all.
But you just said that Jesus paid for the sin of every single human being that ever lived. And you need to keep reading.
Hebrews 10:26
“For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins”
Jesus is the truth. So if you willfully sin after receiving the truth (Jesus), there remains no more sacrifice for sins. This means salvation is conditional and not unconditional.
If you were to keep reading, it says this:So Christ atoned for sin of those who are of the Devil. Because.... Christ paid for sin...right?
Yes, but John the Baptist says behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.1 Peter 1:
1. Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.
(Note Pete here doesn't say "the world"!)
The law of Christ lives within me due to the indwelling Holy Spirit. I'm redeemed. If you were to keep reading, it says this:
1 John 3:10
“In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
So the action of loving your brother is a part of being OF GOD. Those who do not love their brother are not of God.
1 John 3:15 says that no murderer has eternal life abiding in them, and if we hate our brother, we are like a murderer.
In short, it is teaching your holy conduct as a part of salvation. It’s not teaching you can just believe in Jesus or be Elect by God and you are forever locked into God’s Kingdom with future sin forgiven you or whatever nonsense is taught these days.
Well if they denied the Lord that bought them; Christianity is meaningless than isn't it.Yes, but John the Baptist says behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
You even have Peter talk about how there are false prophets and teachers who deny the Lord who BOUGHT THEM.
“But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.” (2 Peter 2:1).
Obviously false teachers are not saved, and yet the Scripture says they were BOUGHT. So its not just the elect who were purchased.
It’s a provisional atonement. Meaning, it’s like somebody making a sacrifice to pay off all your debts and they write a check to give to you in order to pay off your debts. But you have to cash the check and pay off those you are in debt to. This is faith and it is how we access God’s grace. See again Romans 5:2. Hebrews 10:26 proves there is no more sacrifice if we willfully sin after we receive the knowledge of the truth. But you just said that Jesus paid for the sin of every single human being that ever lived.
So thus, how does the sin of the lost suddenly not be atoned for?
Why worship a God who's powerless to do anything. He dies for your sin; but he's up in heaven wringing his hands just hoping you'll accept him.Yes, but John the Baptist says behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.
But you are missing the point. It says that they were BOUGHT. But they denied the Lord. So this means a person can be bought and then later deny the Lord and not be saved. So just because they are bought does not mean they are saved for all eternity.Well if they denied the Lord that bought them; Christianity is meaningless than isn't it.
Then why would Peter say, “Save yourselves from this corrupt generation?” This would seem like double talk if God was the one forcing people to be saved secretly. Why worship a God who's powerless to do anything. He dies for your sin; but he's up in heaven wringing his hands just hoping you'll accept him.
Sounds like omnipotence to me.... right?
Again, he paid for someone who he loses. That's a pretty pathetic redeemer. Don't you think? But you are missing the point. It says that they were BOUGHT. But they denied the Lord. So this means a person can be bought and then later deny the Lord and not be saved. So just because they are bought does not mean they are saved for all eternity.
No. Notice the conditions. If you look at the epistle of John it says IF we walk in the light as he is in the light in 1 John 1:7.The law of Christ lives within me due to the indwelling Holy Spirit. I'm redeemed.
That’s what the text says. So you would be insulting the Lord our God by saying that.Again, he paid for someone who he loses. That's a pretty pathetic redeemer. Don't you think?
Well, if he's that pathetic than he deserves being insulted because he's not really God almighty than is he?That’s what the text says. So you would be insulting the Lord our God by saying that.
