  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

The first thing you must ask about the collapse of the World Trade Center should be, "Cui bono?"

Allah's, of course.

One of you guys' favorite deities you like to use for comparison purposes to the True God.

You mean Bono did it? I knew U2 were evil, but I think that's a conspiracy too far (although they do seem to have an unhealthy interest in the internal workings of atomic bombs).

Sure.

The Big Bang theory -- which scientists say wasn't an explosion at all, but an expansion.
They say there was sound and the sound is still there. Amazing how they can still photograph the big bang, they can still hear the sound from the big bang. Like it all just happened a week ago. Even if it took 14 billion years for the light to get here. The light has not decayed, the light has not changed and is exactly the same as it was when the universe was one week old.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

You have a problem with people calling the deity of the Bible Allah? You better stop calling him God then.

The Big Bang theory -- which scientists say wasn't an explosion at all, but an expansion.

Fred Hoyle is credited with coining the term Big Bang during a 1949 radio broadcast. It is popularly reported that Hoyle, who favored an alternative "steady state" cosmological model, intended this to be pejorative, but Hoyle explicitly denied this and said it was just a striking image meant to highlight the difference between the two models.[12][13][14] Hoyle later helped considerably in the effort to understand stellar nucleosynthesis, the nuclear pathway for building certain heavier elements from lighter ones. After the discovery of the cosmic microwave background radiation in 1964, and especially when its spectrum (i.e., the amount of radiation measured at each wavelength) was found to match that of thermal radiation from a black body, most scientists were fairly convinced by the evidence that some version of the Big Bang scenario must have occurred. wiki

Most scientists were convinced that Thalidomide was a wonder drug.

Most scientists were convinced that Pluto was our 9th planet.

Most scientists were convinced that the Challenger was 'go for throttle-up'.

I'm not tied to their convictions.

In a desperate attempt to keep this on topic...

Does the report indicate why WTC #7 collapsed at near free fall speed?

They only briefly mentioned WTC #7 in the article and I haven't read the entire report, so I don't think that was their focus. Their focus was to explain the explosion sounds heard in the building before the collapse.

Most Christians were convinced they should burn witches.

Most Christians were convinced slavery was OK.

Most Christians were convinced mental illness was caused by demons.

Guess we don't need to bother listening to what you have to say either.

Seriously though, I've never read a good report explaining how and why building 7 after burning for several hours, suddenly fell at near free fall speed into it's own footprint. To my knowledge, we have hundreds of examples of burning buildings on video, with none of them collapsing at near free fall speed into their own footprint.

And just as a pre-emptive caviat, I am not a conspiratorialist.

That is not true. Your getting so desperate that your resorting in lies. This is no surprise though, because you do not have any truth to back up what your trying to claim. More and more it is light and darkness, truth and error. It is getting to be a VERY plain and clear choice for people. It is no wonder that the vast majority accept Christianity and the truth.

nm, off-topic.

Cool thread. Can't say I'd heard of that reaction before (erk), but seems legit.

It did say, in the article, that they have been aware of this reaction since the 1980's. I'm not really tempted to replicate it myself, as it seems dangerous and likely to get me arrested. Maybe I'll contact Mythbusters, because they like making things explode and I like watching it happen. ^_^

Oh, I didn't mean that it was concocted, I just meant I hadn't personally heard of it, but I'm not a chemist! On a basic level it sounds like the metal was hot enough to break the bonds in the water molecules (cringe, chemistry is really not my thang anymore :/ ). Could the metal act as a surface catalyst too?
