  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I have avoided tuna since I found out I was pregnant because of the mercury content. Since I'm almost 14 weeks now I was thinking about eating some (even though I don't really like it) as I have a bunch stored up from WIC that I don't want to go to waste. Did/do you limit tuna? And do you think it's "safer" now that the first trimester is passing?

I eat it about once a month.

I still have issues eating meat (dunno why)... but I eat it in tunafish salad (mayo, boiled eggs sliced small and two cans of tuna that have been drained)..

Otherwise I try to have Salmon once a month as well.. but not so successful as of late.

There is FAR more mercury in most vaccinations than in tuna. You'd have to eat tuna every single day for at least 3 years to have a problem with mercury. (Ok, I can't remember if the 3 yrs is correct or not, but I know it's a loooong time.)

I have tuna about once a week, and I get it from the health food store.

If someone has a good link to which tuna is better/healthier than another, I'd love to see it (I lost all my links about a month ago now in a computer crash.) I know Light tuna is better than the all white, but I can't remember which specific varieties of tuna are better than another.
